Our draft hopes are on life support. :(

Dennis Smith with a triple double

Tj Leaf with 32 and 14 (14 of 18)

We probably won't be seeing Pat at anymore Lonzo games, which should make Bishop happy.

At this rate only Anunoby will be availablewhen we pick in the teens due to injury. :(

At least we don't have to worry about Josh Jackson's free throw woes anymore

Isaac was efficient against the Hurricanes 15 pts (5 of 7, 1 for 1 from 3, 4 for 4 FT), 7 reb, 2 blk

It would suck to miss out on the cream of this crop when you have guys like Monk and Markkanen doing things Hield and Kaminsky were doing but at 3 or 4 years younger.

I don't hate Ball, I just think he's not going to be as exceptional on the next level. No problem with him outside of the top 5. Loving Jackson man, I think he could arguably be the top prospect. He's affects every facet of the game and I trust his shot to grow or at least be stable

If we fall a lot further than we are then I'm in the Swanigan wagon with Dom, if he stay around 8-10 then proceed with the want list

Last month of the season in the league's gonna be worthy

It's funny how many people are panicking because of the fact that we probably won't get a top 3 pick and one in the teens instead. And most, not some, have already lost hope in our future prospect before the draft has even started . Even if we don't get a future star from this year's draft, there's still a good chance we could get a nice role-player. I can get excited about almost any prospect slated to get picked in the teens just cause there's a chance that might happen.

The NBA today is not about adding nice role players on draft night. You need core young stars, every good team has them.

This bizarre winning streak might be what sets up apart from a true star building block (Fultz, Jackson, Smith) and nets us a random MLE type talent

Yea i could care less about adding a role player. We wasted a perfect opportunity in a stacked draft class to grab a superstar. This season was a complete disaster and the worst possible outcome.

That's incorrect. If you're a team like GSW you don't need a star, you only need a good role player. The draft isn't just about adding stars. How many stars are on the 2nd seed Celtics? 1 or 2? You should be happy that you get an above average player on draft night. All you need is some great defense and offense to win a championship and a little luck.

So happy we're on a 10 game win streak and on the cusp of making the playoffs.... I didn't want a chance at Markell Fultz anyways... how about you guys?

So the team who already drafted 3 stars, 2 of which were lotto picks, AND was able to sign KD because they had all those stars on their second contract, doesn't need to strike draft gold huh? Funny that.

Also Boston has nothing that resembles a true star, but their closest are IT and Horford, which were both FA signings. IT was a lucky find and perfect fit with the Celtics culture being built and fit their lack of star - if Smart was more in that star mould IT would not have blossomed the way he did. Horford was their "we need a star, and KD is friends with Al, so if we sign this semi-star the other star might also sign" signing. He ended up a consolation prize, and if you ask Celtics fans whether or not they need a star they will answer yes. They're exactly that star away from being a true contender and challenger to the Cavs. That's why all their fans keep posting Butler trades, and it's why they will try to get Hayward in FA.

I'm talking about the notion that teams draft only to get a star. You should consider yourself lucky if you get an above average player out of the draft. And no, GSW doesn't need to strike draft gold, they don't have a top 5 pick.

Imagine Isaac getting coached up by Spo.. The man basically turned James Johnson into Lamar Odom

Think Robert Williams has a lot of potential...

From June 2015:

Mike Schmitz

"2016 power forward Robert Williams stood out amongst a group of 54 highly touted high school stars with his impressive blend of physical tools, shot blocking ability and shooting touch with range out to three. Sporting an extremely impressive frame, big hands and a 7' 4” wingspan, the Vivian, LA native proved to be a menace on the defensive end as he altered shots both at the rim and on the perimeter. Although the sample size isn't great, it's no surprise that Williams led the EYBL in blocks per 40 minutes with 9.41, nearly three blocks more than second place. Williams' shot blocking ability paired with his shooting potential makes him very valuable in a basketball world where rim protection and three-point shooting is a highly sought after combination. He has good timing, is quick off of his feet, and shows sharp instincts on the defensive end.

On the flip side, Williams is a bit undersized for the power forward position and can play with a more consistent motor overall, but given his long arms, big hands and tremendous frame, he may have another inch or two left in him before reaching his peak physically. Williams was far from the highest-ranked prospect at the Nike Academy, but his long-term potential as an athletic shot-blocking four who can shoot it from the perimeter makes him a very intriguing prospect."

I think it's funny that he was seen as a undersized 4 when the top 2 PFs in defense are under 6'9.

Something else I liked reading about him.

From December 2016:

"Williams has been able to impact the game on both ends of the floor for Texas A&M with his extraordinary length, budding post game, rim protection timing, off-ball cutting, finishing, mid-range jumper, and defensive versatility."

2-way potential. I also read something about him being a terrible rebounder but he's averaging 12 rebounds per 40. Criticism was more than a month ago so I guess it was too early to tell. This guy could definitely be a gem.

Fultz is a future superstar

Smith and Jackson might get there too, but more likely all-stars

Don't like Lonzo for the pros

Then the crap shoot starts with Monk, Tatum, Isaac (I'm highest on Monk right now).

Are we a team like GSW? That was clearly not the point of his post.

On a team like ours with nobody even threatening to be an all-star much less superstar, more roleplayers shouldn't be your focus.

We're overloaded with roleplayers.
