Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
Someone suggested Belinelli + Lamb + Sessions + 1st for CLee + Jennings on the T&T board. Interesting.
Probably wouldn't be too hard to get a disgruntled PG in Rondo or Rose.
Dellavedova is another option.
I'd be thrilled with Mills but SAS wouldn't move him.

I don't know about Cho chasing a point guard. With the adding of Miles Plumley who is very similar to Cody, I would not be surprised at all if Cho still has his sites primarily at Brook Lopez.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
I was just about to suggest Jennings. He would give you the "Kemba like" backup PG who can start if needed. I wouldn't feel bad about getting Lee back either. Trade above would make sense if NY trades Mello.
However, even without a Mello trade I could see NY trading Jennings.

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Ideal but extremely unlikely:
Rubio
Mudiay
Jrue Holiday
Patty Mills
I'd still also still take a shot with MCW

Pops has said that Mills isn't going anywhere.

Reading the tea leaves on Sessions's minutes lately + the McCallum signing, I think he's gone. We have no reason not to take on salary for a solid backup PG given our cap space situation post-Plumlee trade, so I really like the idea of moving Sessions and Roberts to a non- or fringe playoff team that wants to create space.
I would be all about Sessions + Roberts for Dellavedova.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
Maybe I'll get killed for this, but I would also love to trade for Austin Rivers. He's got good size (6'4"), he's excellent in the PNR (0.94 ppp as the handler, better than Kyrie and right up there with Kemba), he seems to have found his shot (44% FG, 38.9% 3PT, 54.7% TS), he's got the quickness to be a plus defender, and he's still only 24.
Highly doubt we could get LAC interested in moving Doc's son though.

He'd be a massive upgrade over what we have currently, so no complaints.

I agree. Signing a fourth PG when the third hardly plays is odd, especially when we only have ten days to evaluate him. Feels a lot like yesterday's move.

Sessions + Lamb for Brandon Knight (suns clear 6 mil in space). Add super-duper protected 2018 1st, if needed. If no first, sure
Sessions + Lamb + unprotected 2017 1st for Jeremy Lin. Get the band back together. Pray we make the playoffs and that pick doesn't a lottery pick. Do the Nets want to move Lin for a 1st? Is Lin ready to give up the dream of being a starting PG? Love Lin, but no. I'm not trading a first. We need to try and groom young talent sometime.
Holiday is UFA this summer, which greatly reduces what I'd offer for him. He'll get paid this summer. Love him, but agreed, not giving up much for him.
Deron is UFA this summer. How much is he worth to us? Sessions + protected 2018? Not including a first for Deron.
Sessions for Galloway? Gives Pelicans a chance to get out of his deal. Doesn't seem to be used much now. Meh
Sessions for Jameer? I guess. Can we get Chandler as well? Maybe one of their young shooters? Pretty please.
Tyler Ennis? Terry Rozier? Tyler Ulis? Meh on Ennis, Ainge would probably want a king's ransom for Rozier because that's how he rolls, and I doubt PHX gives up Ulis.
Or just go with Mumford and Roberts and cut Sessions
Decided to respond to some of your thoughts because why not? Work is slow today.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
I think that it's been just as clear to the Hornets brass as it has bee here, that PG & C were the positions of weakness backup wise. I'm thinking that Roberts is probably gone.
I'm still holding out some hope around a trade for Jennings, but I wouldn't mind Rivers.
Just for fun, what do folks think about this. I'm not sure that the Knicks would do this unless Mello was traded first, but...
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hwmukzc
Charlotte in: Jennings & Chandler
Charlotte out: Sessions & Lamb
NYC in: Sessions & Lamb
NYC out: Lee & Jennings
Denver in: Lee
Denver out: Chandler
NYC gets younger & can see if Lamb fits with what they are building. Denver replaces Chandler, who wants out, with a guy who can start at SG or backup either wing spot. Charlotte goes all in on this season. Not sure if picks would need to be involved or not. Lee for Chandler is pretty even IMHO. NYC might need something to make that move though.

Honestly, I dig it for us, but part of me wonders why not just cut Denver out and trade for Lee. We know what he's capable of and how he helped us post-trade last season. I guess Lee's deal is one year longer and Chandler is 2 years younger. Plus, Denver has a lot of SGs, do they really need another one?

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
I just haven't gotten the feeling that Denver is sold on any of their SGs yet, and most of those guys are young too. Chandler has been coming off the bench lately for them. What Lee does is give them flexibility. The can plug Lee in Chandler's bench roll or start him as they develop and decide between the young guards they have. They really seem to be in playoff push mode this year.
I would be OK with Lee coming back here too, and the trade does work that way if you take Denver out of it.

If we leave this team the way it is at the deadline then we might as well say F this season...we r currently locked in to be mediocre as hell and it makes me sick
Package MKG, Frank and a 1st for another scorer because Kemba can't do it by himself

Alexis Ajinca and a future 1st for Okafor?? I know it's not signed off on, but would love Okafor here.

Apparently PHI wants Jrue Holiday, and NOP is not down with that.
Agree that if a deal for Okafor only takes a protected 1st + an expiring like Hibbert, would definitely have been worth investigating.

Heh, they should send Noel and just reverse the draft-day trade from a few years ago.

guys I know you brought in Plumlee, so I dont know whats the chance youll go for another C, but Nurkic posted something I find interesting, its about hashtag #mačka, which means #cat, and Charlotte was Bobcats..
