A deal with the Wolves makes no sense for them but the deal with Charlotte made no sense for them so you never know
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

One of Monroe or Henson is going before the deadline in three weeks if the asset coming back is right.
Again, it's really 4, and one guy who can stretch to play there, and who is raw.
But still, it does make logical sense to balance out the roster that one would be moved. Not that it wasn't the intel anyway and something they would logically do.
If we're trading Monroe, I want a mid 1st rd pick. He still makes the team better significantly, which I don't view as a bad thing, yet. There's an outside chance he'd opt in, which at this point would be a positive thing to me. And we could have the option in the offseason to re-sign him, and then decline if the price was too high.
Henson obviously has to go, center surplus or not. It's a long overdue event. Today makes me more optimistic, but each situation is individual. Maybe the sucker for Henson doesn't exist, or if they're there, we can't properly persuade them. Couldn't hurt if we showcased him a bit again to create the perception from starting him on limited minutes he's at least a #2 in this league. But I'm not even sure that's true in reality anymore. Perception is reality in this case, though.

January 20 Marc Stein reported:

January 23 Sam Amico (fwiw) reported:
The Minnesota Timberwolves are actively shopping point guard Ricky Rubio in trade proposals, league sources told The Vertical.
The Timberwolves have attached Rubio to multiple offers with Shabazz Muhammad to several teams around the NBA, league sources said. Minnesota has been seeking something of a “bridge” guard in return, a player capable of starting in the short term, but who’ll ultimately settle into a backup role and give way to rookie Kris Dunn to become the long-term starter, league sources said.
The Sacramento Kings have had a strong interest in acquiring Rubio, but there’s no traction on a deal between those two teams, league sources said. So far, the Timberwolves are trying to exhaust the market elsewhere for a better return of assets than the Kings can offer.

January 20 Marc Stein reported:
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons have discussed a potential swap of point guards Ricky Rubio and Reggie Jackson, according to league sources.
Sources told ESPN that no deal appeared imminent Friday but said the teams have engaged in dialogue this week on a potential multiplayer exchange that would be headlined by Rubio and Jackson.
The Wolves have been openly trying to move Rubio for some time and reportedly are willing to attach swingman Shabazz Muhammad to offers featuring the veteran Spanish point guard.

The Bulls and Knicks have a strong interest in available Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio, per multiple sources.

Shabazz Muhamed has an awesome name. And he is not a bad player. But he is brutal to watch. Total YMCA old man game... post up, iso scorer, never passes, junk fakes and hooks and scoops.

I can see Monroe dominating on the Spurs.

The owners asked Thon's handler to make a Plumlee mix tape to send out to teams.

The Bucks managing to swindle the Hornets does not mean the Wolves are also going to make a horrible deal.

Re: Windhorst & Stein: Bucks trade Plumlee to Hornets for Hawes and Hibbert
Incredible talent and contract value combos on our roster right now: Giannis, Jabari, Middleton, Brogdon
Decent talent / value (in context of current CBA: Thon), Snell, Delly
Meh: Monroe (likely opt out), Teletovic, Hibbert (expiring)
"THE GOGGLES, DEY DO NOTHING FOR MY EYES": Henson, Terry, Hawes
What I am trying to say is we are a Monroe or Henson trade away from being back in a phenomenal place, roster wise

Could've said roughly the same thing before every season we've had cap space. Not sure if it's a good thing with Hammond/Kidd in charge.

So, if we were somehow able to deal Henson for expiring, Monroe opts out, Hawes opts in, how much capspace do we have?

$ 75,011426 million committed. Means roughly $ 27 million on cap space.

Re: Windhorst & Stein: Bucks trade Plumlee to Hornets for Hawes and Hibbert
So why are some so eager to get rid of Monroe ?
Are we back to the under 25 roster with 20 wins a year and a perpetual tank till we land Jordan mindset ?
Just wondering because that might be the only option with no 5 on the roster

Cap being projected at $102 mil next season and all those variables you threw out there, roughly 24-27 million of cap space. I think Hawes is more likely to opt out, which gives us another little chunk of money to add to that figure.
