Wilson Chandler wants out
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/244775/Wilson-Chandler-Seeks-Trade-From-Nuggets
Well it looks like our players coach has another player wanting out, a guy who has been very clear in the past in how much he likes Denver and the Nuggets.
Add that to them shopping Mudiay and Nurkic wanting out, and we have 3 guys that should bring back a decent package.

I would hope Sam Presti makes a phone call. I don't know if we have the best assets to trade but we could definitely use him.

Re: Wilson Chandler wants out
Let's not forget three assistant coaches left after Malone's first year.
One might be reasonable, two seems unlikely, but three seems strange.
That's like winning PowerBall two weeks in a row, only buying one ticket both weeks. (Perhaps a slight exaggeration, but ...)

I don't buy it. With everything we've ever heard about Chandler's personality, he's not the type of guy to start a bunch of drama and demand a trade. And we all know how tight lipped the Nuggets front office is. All of these "anonymous sources" are coming from other teams who are only guessing at Denver's wants and needs.

The report is said to have originally come from Sam Amick, he has a history of being right when he reports rumors like this.

I can see why Chandler would want out, plenty of contenders could use his services.

Re: Wilson Chandler wants out
Is anyone starting to get the old feeling "last one out, please turn off the lights"?
Nuggets fired Shaw in less than two years. If they fire Malone, they're beginning to look like the Kings. I'm betting he's here next year too. <sigh>

The big difference is the Nuggets have stayed stagnant despite giving each coach a year plus, and the coaches both seemed to have started to lose the locker room. At least 4 guys want out, while the teams record has not improved. Those players need to be traded, but Malone needs to be fired as well.

Why does it seem like when we start to see some light ahead, drama starts to implode? Coach drama seems to be the issue here as Chandler just wants to stop being jerked around, Nurkic situation blamed on Malone too, Keep the talent, get someone who can bring stability to this club

No coach is going to be able to make every one happy when you have too much depth. Roles aren't defined so people feel like they should be given roles they are qualified for. Were in the playoff hunt, no need to panic. I will say they MUST make a big trade to free up room so players can start to get defined roles and then settle down the storm.

Young coaches work cheaper and maybe experienced coaches aren't interested in Denver's roster (guessing on the last half).
Young coaches are seldom as adept at dealing with the NBA players' egos. It's hard to manage people that make 2-20 times your salary. Young coaches typically are more insecusre. Experienced coaches tend to have thicker skin.

"No coach is going to be able to make every one happy when you have too much depth." Really? Riley's Showtime Lakers had some serious depth. Jackson's Bulls were fairly deep. The Spurs seem to have an unending supply of depth. The Warriors unload half their team and reload with some pretty good players. Great coaches can keep everyone happy.
You hit the nail on the head though: "Roles aren't defined". If players know they are only going to play in case of injury, most of them can accept it, even if they don't like it. If they know they are a bench player that's going to get 20 mpg, most players can accept that. But when they don't know if they are going to play or not; if they don't even know what position they are going to play - most players are not going to be happy. Arthur signed with Denver for a discount, no doubt expecting to play at least minimal minutes in every game - more if there was an injury. I seriously doubt he expected to be playing backup center against Marc Gasol and Zach Randolp among others. Chandler has been a SF for virtually his entire career and now he doesn't know if he's going to start at PF or come off the bench at SF or maybe SF & PF. "Roles aren't defined".
Having managed teams of workers, I can tell you that if they don't know what they are supposed to do on a regular basis, they are not happy because every employee is evaluated on how they perform - no matter what the job.

Re: Wilson Chandler wants out
Honestly the vets on this team for their average at best play demand way too much and Malone is clearly not good enough as a coach or leader to control them.
Trade him if it's true. What happened to the Malone of last season that benched Foye and Hickson? Those two didn't even say anything about it. Heck Nelson was benched last season too and his ego eventaully got him to bitch and talk about it to the media but Malone still didn't play him.

Well, Malone has been around coaching all his life, his father was an experienced coach, he doesn't get a pass in my book., he's not a young coach, he's a grown man.
And really ?? bringing up Riley (who himself has a bigger ego than the entire Showtime) is comparing apples to oranges, the 80's were an entirely different culture than today's NBA.

I think the biggest issue this year all started with Faried, he threw a fit when he was benched and got his way, now it seems everybody is going to follow suit.

Aw, come on, Riley was just one of those and another was the 90's (still different) but two were current examples of coaches that managed personalities.

Oh, c'mon....there is so much more of a sense of ENTITLEMENT now than there was even back in the 80's or 90's

Chandler kinda sucks but hes the kind of guy other teams could talk themselves into. And his deal is palatable.
Hoping for a great result here. If the Nuggles can get a good player for some combination of their poo poo platter of Mudiay, chandler, nurkic they could really be in business

I don't think for a second this is coincidental as Hinkie is well educated and a fan of Classic British Lit

Dude, you continue to show you ignorance, you don't know what you're talking about ! Chandler, on any given night, will give you 20+/7/3 while coming off the bench. We we're all surprised he said he want to leave, he's always been a team guy.GlenRiceARoni wrote:Chandler kinda sucks
You obviously don't watch or follow the Nuggets, yet you "pretend" to be a fan ?!? If you want to BE a fan, learn/watch/follow what's going on so you can at least converse like a real Nuggets fans.
