Re: Washington Wizards
Wizards are very good and better than most thought they would be. To be fair, coming into the season almost every fan has a renewed sense of pride and expectations for their team (such as Pacers, Bulls, Knicks) so it wasn't really something too crazy to have middling expectations for them with all those fan bases being so optimistic on the general boards about it.

Read our board. We really don't have bandwagon fans. Heck, everyone of us (save maybe one) would fire our inept GM right now if we could.

The bench isnt good, but its getting better and fast. Trey Burke, Andrew Nicholson, and Marcus Thornton played to start the year and were terrible. Now, Thornton hasnt stepped on the court in 15 games and Nicholson has played 22 Minutes over the last 17.
Now Satoransky is playing PG. He was an elite Guard in Europe and has a lot of Ginobli to his game. He started off poorly, but has played about 15 MPG over the last 10 games with a ORtg/DRtg of 121/106.
Combine that with McClellan, Oubre, and Jason Smith along with Mahinmi coming back next week... and we might have something
Here is those 4 this year alonf with Mahinmi last year... Not bad: http://bkref.com/tiny/pkAZn

He deserves little credit for Wall, Beal and Otto. He deserves credit for Oubre but he is still a project. Wall was a consensus pick, Beal was the consensus pick at 3 (especially since Charlotte passed), Otto Porter was a consensus pick at 3. The Wizards are just lucky that they had top 3 picks in drafts where the consensus picks ended up being good. If they had the number 3 pick in 2011 and 2014 instead, man we wouldn't be here right now.

Lmao Ginobili?? Just because he's an European guard who can handle the ball?? Satoransky can only dream of Ginobili's eurostep. He can only dream of Ginobili's head fake that still works perfectly at age 39. He can only dream of his shooting ability.
Most importantly, Satoransky can only dream of Ginobili's fearlessness, his fire.

I've seen Satoransky play enough to know that he's not very good. And at 25 he's not a prospect either. He plays because there aren't any other options.

You know both Ginobli and Sato played in the Euroleague at 23 and 24 y/o, with both players coming to the NBA at 25. Over those two years Sato was a better 3pt shooter, FT shooter, and an equal 2pt shooter. Soooo

Then I'll point to the most important point, Sato lacks Ginobili's mindset. Sato plays timid, he passes up wide open jumpers. He doesn't have a swagger or supreme confidence.

Dude, you're grasping at straws. How about you look at Ginobili's rookie year. He was mediocre at best and his first few months/40 games... He was straight up TERRIBLE.
So Sato was equal to or better than Ginobili in the same league at the same age (though the league is tougher now than 20 years ago)... He was also just as "timid" when he first came to the NBA, but somehow Sato cant even resemble Ginobili.
Again, I never said Sato IS Ginobili. I said he resembles him (sneaky athleticism, ball handling, defense, and high IQ)....

Wouldn't mind seeing another Raptors-Wizards first round series. The ratings would be through the roof.

I love that squad. John Wall is a legit MVP candidate and tremendously overlooked.
Once Mahinmi is healthy that will give them one of the better big men in the league off the bench.
Gortat/Mahinmi/Smith
Morris/Porter/Smith
Porter/Oubre
Beal/Satoransky/Thornton
Wall/Burke/Thornton
They are another guard off the bench away from being a very complete team. It's too bad they couldn't retain Sessions, he'd fit in very will. A guy that can put up points off the bench would be a pretty nice fit for them too.
Why type of deal do you think would be fair for Lou Williams for the Wiz? If the Knicks decide to scrap the season I think Jennings could work there. I wonder if they could nab a guy like Jameer Nelson or Will Barton from the Nuggets... regardless, I think they need one more guy that can play the 1 and occasional 2. I'd imagine Smith, Nicholson, Burke, maybe Morris and Satoransky, are their expendable players that have some sort of value.
Go Knicks!

Jason Smith + 2017 1st
For
Lou Willams
Pretty much a straight up deal for 1st rounder Jason is on 3rd depth chart. He's not going see many minutes if any at all.

Wizards are good. John Wall is balling right now and Beal might be playing at his best. I wouldn't say they're the 2nd best in the East yet because as good as they've been playing and how great they've been at home, they need to play much better on the road in which they've been struggling. East is starting to get real interesting.

If anyone gets traded it will be Nicholson. That was a waste of money. Smith is on a bargain contract and playing well, no way Morris is being traded and Sato is going to be given every opportunity. So that leaves Nicholson, won't play b/c Morris and Smith are playing better and Brooks rolls with Porter as a small ball 4.
They definitely need a Barton type. Maybe Lou Williams. I would trade the 1st rounder but I'd like for it to have heavy protections on it.
Sucks too...apparently Tim Hardaway Jr was available for 2 2nd round picks, I would have jumped on that.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

I dont think they should give up a 2017 first for a quick-fix type trade. Look at the picture and draft another young guy that can learn and build with these guys that is on a long-term team friendly contract. I would think about a 2nd or 2 but I think I would rather role with what they have then give up a 1st for a season and a half of Lou Williams.

Yes yes yes! Try to hit the jackpot and get a star. Better than going for expensive veterans with no upside. We're still far from contention. Need more talent on the roster.
