You're right -- sounds like a monster to me.
:banghead:

But he's a scorer off the bench...which is what we need

Respectfully, deneem, a guy who only gives you maybe 1 point more per 40 minutes than an average wing, & who gets his points at average efficiency or slightly below, & during those minutes doesn't even get an average number of boards -- that guy is not helping your team.

Don't get me wrong -- there are plenty of guys worse than THJ in the league! But this is not a guy you go out to acquire. & certainly not a guy you trade your future for.

Of course, PIF's comments spurred Hardaway to a career game - including a phenominal 4th quarter that got Atl the win over Htn - exactly what we didn't want to happen. Way to go, PIF. Pff.

Now I suppose he's going to say he didn't realize he had that power. :noway:

I think the Hawks view him as a keeper, and don't see them being willing to make that trade - though personally, I think that performance was a fluke, and I see him as an ordinary player.

I actually stated wanting to trade for him before that game started
and to put his performances in perspective
He also had his 2nd best game against the spurs
And ironically whenever he plays more than 30min the hawks are 8-2

Hawks were asking for 2nds not too long ago for him...

Everyone in this thread is just talking circles around each other. Some believe that we are close to contender status and upgrading the bench will make us a legitimate threat to Cleveland. Others believe we're still far away and need to keep our draft picks to bring potential star upside to the team. People keep suggesting trades involving our 1st rounder for strictly offense veterans and PIF keeps providing reasons why those trades are bad. Nobody will find common ground until we see what happens in March/April.

We don't need a do it all backup guard...

We need an aggressive scorer someone who's not afraid to attack and score every chance with the 2nd unit....
Morris does it already and while he's had some good night's he still need another option when that shot isn't falling...
It will open the floor for oubre to have his porter motions..
And allow sato to choose his spots...

But we need someone who can attack defenses and push the pace with our 2nd unit

I will also flip burke Thorton and a useless 2nd for hawes...before Milwaukee sees how valuable hawes can be next to giannas...

This saves them some more money...and gets us a legit stretch big who can defend rebound and pass

It could be that - for the first time in recorded history - PIF could be wrong.

...not about Hardeway, Jr - but about the Wizards... and Lou Williams.

One of the interesting things about the Hawes trade - he's the same age (28) as Plumlee.

I wouldn't make that trade. Hawes has a player option for next year. If he excersices it while on the Wiz, that's another big shot of lux tax.

Its burke and thronton so we're not really losing anyone we don't want to lose...
2ndly hawes is the perfect type of big for small ball...particularly ours...
He's a great passer when there are willing cutters...he's a rim protector when hes not playing with another paint hogging big and considering the open looks Smith gets he would make those...

He's not a pf...which is what his recent teams try to play him at...he's a legit center let wall give him some dimes for 10mins a game while sato dishes for the other 10 and we have a legit backup center

Meh, If Hawes is a rim protector, he's changed completely, because he's been one of the worst defensive centers I've seen.

He's not the best but he's not a bad defensive Center...power forward probably but he's a ok defensive center

Some ranking thing I saw on twitter had Kelly Oubre 10th in the entire NBA in perimeter defense. And he's only 21! :D

How about Jason Smith, Andrew Nicholson and Ian Mahinmi for ANTHONY DAVIS???

(I are on crack. )

(Seriously, I am overjoyed. My birthday was lovely)

If I could make one unrealistic fantasy trade, this would be it. Of all the players in the league, Davis is probably the most perfect fit on this roster.

If they demand Jason Smith, the answer is simply no.

I know...you cant trade a SuperSayian for a human...

The only reason I would even consider Jason for Anthony Davis is Davis is younger... but even then...naw we good
