Besides recent Lupe, this is the best hip-hop song I've heard in a while I think*.

*For my taste*

I couldn't get into this at all, personally.

I know you mentioned that you're more into music sonically now. I'd really recommend you checkout The Internet - Ego Death, NxWorries - Yes Lawd!
Both more r&b/soul than anything but some of the best music I've heard in the past few years.

At the end of the day I don't mind Belly, but when the mixtape came out this was one of the songs I was bumping. He finally did a video for this.

I know Syd is more soul/R&B than rap, but I still count her as hip-hop.

Wow is all I have to say. Her voice is so angelic. Might be the most enjoyable album I've heard in quite some time. Syd is special man.

BROOOOOOOOKLYN...

I also think Don Q is one of the nicest new dudes in the game when he on the right beat... When the beat is not suspect he sounds like how NY is supposed to.

I'm not really a hip hop fan anymore, but I am an old school fan, and to anyone that is an old school fan, the stretch Armstrong and Bobbito documentary on Netflix is a must.

yeah man, rae that dude. They rarely give him props tho.
Jay Z is the one they glorify the most but like Nas said, "bore me with your fake coke rhyme"
Rae, ghost, and nas are nice and creative with the storytelling about hustlin while jigga is more boastful

Sounds like his most complete album to me. Stuck to the theme & it worked.
Very dope off the first few spins.
Love the Eddie Kendricks sample on "light".
No favors, Jump out the window, halfway off the balcony , inspire me & bigger than me are all very chill.
Don't be surprised to see a Big Sean x Isiah Rashad collab in the future either.

Don Q remind me of how Vado used to sound when he was with Cam. Just a deeper voice. Flows very similar though.

Everybody sweating East these days but he not better than Vado. I stay telling people that. Vado is a true spitter from Harlem in the classic sense.
