Embiid off the court is a good way to highlight to some people that Brett Brown isn't an amazing coach and Philly aren't that much better than us, they're just lucky enough to have Embiid.

They've still won some nice games without him. Now, a team without him, Noel AND Covington is going to have issues.

Yeah, but we've won games with underhanded rosters before, too. Didn't/doesn't make us any more of a legit team.

I'm just pushing back at some of the anti-Vogel/Hennigan rhetoric.

That's why you tank, to get guy like Embiid. Also there is solid chance that Simmons will be really good. Rare combination of passing, athletic tools, rebounding and size

We tanked. It would've been damn hard to tank at the level of Milwaukee and Philly that season. And they both still got leapfrogged by Cleveland. If Cleveland never got the jump we could've had a top 3 pick. Who knows what the draft order would've been if it had been strictly record based?

Look at the following season, New York were the 2nd worst team in the league and they ended up picking 4th. (And still got the 2nd best prospect from that draft class - to date).

Found out some interesting info on Josh Jackson on Hoop-Math. 39.8% of his shots come at the rim, 39.4% are 2pt jumpers and 20.8% of his shots come from the 3pt line. Here are is percentages for each shot type:

70.1% at the rim
38.7% on 2pt jumpers
33.9% on 3pt jumpers.

Those numbers were better than I expected (better than Wiggins' year at Kansas too). You can find the rest of the D-1 prospects here.

like I said, Wiggins got the same criticism when he was at Kansas....look what he did to us the other night. Jackson has the ability to be a two way beast. The guy is a Jimmy Butler/Wiggins mix. Can't pass him up.

Another useless win on the back of random puzzle pieces that won't be on our team in 2-3 years. Woohoo

I see a lot of Gerald Wallace and Iggy as well. I think Jackson will have a better pull up jumper coming into the league though. Could be special.

If we are fortunate enough to draft him, then we need to get serious about signing/trading for shooters at all positions. In fact, we need to do that even if we draft a solid shooter. If Ibaka could land us a Terrence Ross or Jae Crowder, then I'm all in on that.

Nik/Biz
Gordon/Not Jeff Green
Crowder/Jackson
Fournier/cheap 3pt specialist
Elfrid/Augustin

I wouldn't mind resigning Meeks for the right price. Also, I think Nikola Mitotic could be had for a decent price this offseason. He doesn't fit what Chi is trying to accomplish, but could be valuable next to Biz off the bench.

As some of us predicted, Vogel will play Watson ,Green and others and pull 30 wins from this garbage and shoot them out of good lottery pick.

UPDATED

Bad night for the tank. We dropped to 8th with the win. We are 4 games out of the playoffs and 3.5 out of the 2nd worst record in the league. They need to commit to one or the other. Otherwise we will be stuck picking 11th in a draft that has 6-8 good to great prospects.

I'm not down with the tank. This season has been a mess but if Ibaka and Vuc can develop perfect chemistry, that's a formidable big duo. Maybe Gordon IS not the superstar in waiting...package HIM before the rest of the league notices he's got no Alpha in him (he'll be at an all time high value after he wins the dunk contest). We probably would have seen it by now...I used to pinch my son's tricep at YMCA ball because he played really well when he was pissed (he had more ability than most but he was mentally passive). Vogel could try that...can't say he's not getting minutes anymore...Maybe Gordon, Hezonja & picks gets us a sniff at Butler...I'd much rather root for Lakers to get wins.

Yea, who would ever thought that player with no SF skills can't play SF... Vogel maybe :banghead:

Vučević and Ibaka had enough time to show any leadership qualities ,but they are soon to be 27 and (at least) 28 years old, team with them as A guys is 11 games below .500 and one of worst teams in the league. Just because they beat Raptors twice it doesn't make them good, it makes Raptors dumpster fire. They also lost to : Hornets, 76ers and Bucks in last 2 weeks. They are 2-8 in last 10 games.

At least Ibaka boosted his trade value, he can't wait to leave   I love how he picks teams where he shows up to play

It's hard to judge where he's at (or any of them)...the psychology of a losing, muddled situation can mess players up. I would certainly get Ibaka's feeling on re-signing before making such a bold move. I would be nervous about adding Butler without some strong veteran leadership in Ibaka on board...I would also want a better feel from Vogel as to whether he's on the Vuc bandwagon as well. I don't like how they loved him/loved him not all season. He and Ibaka were obviously meant to complement/complete each other - if it worked (rim protection & long range shooting meet post scoring & rebounds).

If there's one area this rebuild has truly failed in, it's player development. I wouldn't want to let AG go until he's had at least two seasons playing in the correct position and under the tutelage of Chad Forcier.

That said if Boston offered the Brooklyn pick for him in a package including Ibaka or whoever, I would be sorely tempted because two high picks in this draft would be an outstanding way to restart the rebuild.

We're in a very dangerous spot right now, if u think about it. 4.0 under 0.500 and IF we build a momentum and win some games then this r----ded management will be ready to fight for the playoffs. As a true Magic fan i want them to lose every single game until trade deadline just to show Martins and Henningan how bad this team is constructed, every win brings us closer to a stupid Harris for Jennings,Ersan like trade.

Just wondering...what would Gordon bring back. Does the rest of the league still think he's an exceptional prospect or is he Tony Allen? An on-the ball stopper, and a rim runner on offense? Not what I was hoping his upside is, but...I wonder what his national value would be
