GT: Nuggets vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Fri Feb 3, 2017 9:39 pm

When: 7:00 PM MT Feb 4th, 2017
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio TX

Last home before the rodeo road trip begins so a win would be nice. Looks like Denver is going to have Jokic back so this one could be interesting.

To win this one we need replicate the way we played them the last time we met. Crash the boards hard and limit them in transition.

Go Spurs!!

Jokic had himself a trip-dub (20/13/11ast in 32 minutes) last night in Denver's win over Milwaukee, so he'll either keep it up tonight or he'll be gassed, as last night's game was his first after being out three.

No new word on LMA other than being listed as day-to-day, so we'll have to wait and see. I'd love to see Dedmon get 25-30 minutes tonight, to see if he can replicate Thursday's double-double.

I'd go a head with resting Aldridge for one more day. We'll be needing him on Monday against the Grizzlies

Finally get a day off work to watch this one live. Really keen to see Jokic. Highlights have shown him making great passes inside and out so that could test our inconsistent defense.

I agree with resting LMA again. I think Bertans and Dedmon need extended time out there to better prepare them for their playoff roles.

There is no way Dedmon is 7 foot tall. He is listed everywhere so but to me he looks 6'9 or 6'10.

edit: Not that it stops him dunking. Wow, two straight.

And the great thing is they were both from great passes from Leonard. Kawhi is taking advantage of the extra attention tonight and really setting up his teammate well.

Deadmon is 6'11 in shoes, which is more than fine for a C. Taller than Cousins, Howard, Okafor and other guys who are considered "7 footers".

As for the game, great to watch some vintage Ginobili. He is on fire from deep tonight.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

His height is fine, I'm just surprised he is introduced as 7'0 and listed so.

Hard game to judge our main guys in such a blowout. Kawhi was leaving shots well short but he defended really well and passed well.

Great to see the skill of Bertans, Simmons and Murray in the end too. That alley oop to Murray was awesome, his head was almost rim high.

Great win. We really needed to close this one out early and we did.

Loved what I saw from Simmons, Bertans and Murray late in the game too. Both Bertans and Murray should be getting more minutes, would love to see Pop start giving Bertans more minutes at the 3 and Murray some minutes at the 2.
