Some planned venues do not necessarily take advantage of this approach:

Yeah I don't like that at all, glad we aren't doing it that way. I'm not sure why any arena is designed like that
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

A couple cool additions proposed. Specifically like the "BUCKS" signage as this will be plastered on everyone's social media when attending games, which in turn will attract the casual fan & out-of-towners.

I doubt anybody is going to go "I'm going to a Bucks game because I saw somebody on facebook post a picture of themselves by a Bucks sign."

The placement just looks weird. Like they just slapped it in any old spot.

At least make it the entire length of that wall.

And on a back entrance where nobody is going to be.

That's how it is at the Kohl Center lower bowl.

But will they actually buy a ticket and go to the game? I doubt it.

Yes they will because it will be the "cool" thing to do. This area and Bucks game are going to turn much more into an "event" than a game, similar to Brewers game after Miller Park was built. If you don't think having some sort of ideal "picture taking" spot isn't important than you must be still in the 90s.

Going to a Bucks game will be a cool thing to do when the Bucks actually start winning. Nobody is going to give a **** if they're still losing.

Not disagreeing with you there, but there is a whole other side of it. Are you really that upset of them putting in signage that's only going to promote the Bucks brand? Haha

Judging your posts from this page your stance is pretty negative. Maybe you're just a Debbie downer but that's the vibe I got.

The first step to addressing crippling signage-placement induced-rage [SPIR] is to acknowledge you have a problem.

Brewers drew 1.5 million fans last year in County Stadium.

Drew 2.8 million in year one of Miller Park

Drew 1.9 million in year 2 of Miller Park.

Everyone will go to year one of the new arena. Most games will be sold out.

Year two is on LED.

Year two of Miller Park was the 56-106 Brewers, the worst season in franchise history. That was one of only two seasons where the Brewers drew less than 2 million fans at Miller Park. Despite being a very mediocre franchise, the Brewers have averaged 2.6 million fans since they opened Miller Park. The Brewers drew 2 million fans at County Stadium exactly one season.

I'm no marketer but I don't think the sign itself is intended to drive ticket sales.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

The point is you're only guaranteed one year of strong attendance when opening a new arena/stadium. People will come out when it's brand new because they want to see what it looks like. Once they see what it looks like though, you need to give them a reason to keep coming back.

Like pp said with Miller Park opening

2001 - 2,811,041 (68-94)
2002 - 1,969,153 (56-106)
2003 - 1,700,353 (68-94)
2004 - 2,062,382 (67-94)
2005 - 2,211,023 (81-81)

If the Bucks go 35-47 after the new arena opens and then say 26-56, 39-43, 40-42 and 37-44 it's basically going to be a new Bradley Center because nobody is going to show up no matter how many fancy things they put out front for people to take pictures with. That was the only point.

I mean, it's really not a fair comparison, though. Baseball is a summer sport, and with that comes summer weather, tailgating, and often outdoor seating (and even when the roof is closed, the place is big enough that you don't necessarily feel like you're sitting indoors). All of those things will attract fans forever, regardless of how the Brewers are doing.

I mean, look at County Stadium - their stadium attendance was consistently in the low 20k per game from 1979-1995, give or take a few small up and down. That was in a stadium that could seat 54K. Even when the Brewers were absolutely abysmal, County Stadium still churned out the 20k who would go just for sun and stars.

Even in year one, I'd be shocked if the new arena is sold out on every week night. Especially if the Bucks suck.

Maybe at beginning of the season if will be.
