Who's up for a competition?

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Wed Feb 1, 2017 2:10 am

I was convinced to do a BAT (Build a team) competition on the Knicks board (sometimes called GMAT or GM a team) and there is a long draft, and it basically plays out like the real nba, because you have to end up building out a real team from current NBA players to compete THIS year.

It's all a judge based competition though, so that is kind of odd, but it is interesting so far for me to strategize of how to build the team during the draft and I am interested to see how it plays out from here. I know at least one Suns poster participates in these on the T&T games forum, and pelifan (who some of you know) does it, and if it didn't fill up I could probably recruit a few others.

We'd have to find independent judges though. And you have to pick a real team. I guess I'd be the Suns (j/k) we'd have to figure that out.

To see how the Knicks one works, you can read here if you are interested:

Draft is taking place in their forum now...you can see my team in my sig, and it may not look great, but with a 30 team draft, I'd like to think I'm not doing bad.

Just thought I'd throw it out there if people might be interested.

Do one for Suns fans? I'm sure we can get at least 15 posters here and then another 15 from other forums to participate in. I'm down. :)

Give us something to do for the next 3 weeks.

Could be fun, is it judged immediately after the draft?

I think so. Since that Knicks one is still drafting, we can just follow whatever they do there.

I'm not sure how long the whole thing takes, as it is the first time I am playing. Here is the Knicks draft thread...started about 3 weeks ago.

We did this back in the summer of 2010, it was dope:

The teams do.. not hold up well at all. Well mine doesn't. TO BE FAIR though I was like 13 and I was building for a future team!!

Anyways, I'd be down for one over the summer? As I recall, it was a nice way to spend the (otherwise) dreadful months of August/September.

Fair point hahaha I just know I can barely make time for the Suns/the rest of the NBA (as I'll definitely be watching as many playoff games as I can) and I want to give this my full attention.
