Re: Lance Stephenson
I think is really good. Thibs has the strong approach to get into Lance head, and the wolves need phisicallity on the wing. Lance still talented, he just need a system and motivation. Hope Thibs find it, because his skillset would be a great addition to this roster.

Re: Lance Stephenson
It's a 10 day contract, so I'm not gonna sweat over it.
He's not the kind of veteran leadership I was hoping for (quite the contrary), not a solid defender most of the time, and not much of an outside threat. But let's see what happens over these few games and whether Thibs can do something with him. If he helps from the bench, great. If it doesn't work in this short stint, we won't have lost anything.

Thibs approach has little to no effect on effort levels of Wiggins. His approach has little to no effect on lack defense from the "big 3".
What is this Thibs approach people keep talking about and why would it all of a sudden work with Stephenson?

Re: Lance Stephenson
It's a risky move but it is worth the risk. The skills are there, if Thibs can keep Lance under control this might turn into steal.

Wiggins and Lance aproach to the game are total opposites. Wiggins is a laid back guy, Lance plays with an edge. In fact, the main problem with Lance is that he tries to do too much sometimes. But you cant put an underdog mentality when isnt there.
Thibs approach wasnt builded here. What 3 21 YO guys do on his first season isnt changing what he is.

Better than sitting on their hands. Lance provided a spark for the Grizzles last year when they were overcome by injuries.. He seems to flourish in that role.

Re: Lance Stephenson
Thought he was a lot older. I lke that we are giving him a chance team needs some grit and I don't know how he is physically but if he's in basketball shape and gets time, I think we will bust his ass trying to get back on a team, at the very least this is an audition for him for all the other NBA squads. Worse case scenario is it doesn't work out at all or there are issues and he's gone in 10 days. Best case scenario is he winds up being a great piece and we sign him for the year and possibly beyond. Its a good move.

Re: Lance Stephenson
I hoped it wouldn't come to this. Maybe it won't be so bad.... if nothing else, he used to be a decent defender IIRC. Maybe Thibs can get something out of him. But if he stays long-term, there's going to be trouble. Stephenson is a mess, and not the kind of veteran I want hanging around the team. I'd almost prefer we signed Larry Sanders.

Re: Lance Stephenson
I don't think there's any reason to think this is bad.
What's the real-life worst case scenario? He plays well enough to be offered let's say a 2-year contract after this season and in the first season of his contract, he goes full-on negative and we have to cut him or trade him away with a future 2nd or something?
What's the real-life best case scenario? 6th-7th man who comes in and helps with crunch time defense and averages 10-5-4 or something? I think this is a risk worth taking.

I like this. We need another creator without LaVine and he brings a grit that we don't have on this team.

Not my favorite player in the league by a long shot but the reality is Thibs will probably give him the minutes Rush was getting behind LaVine (i.e., basically nothing) so, meh. Need a warm body for injury/foul trouble insurance.

It's possible, but depends how long Dunn is out

I feel the same way about him, but I doubt they would sign him to a 10 day contract and only play him in garbage time.
