Did it again and got:
Phx

Philly

I'd take it lol

Any one of those 3 scenarios is pure gold

Id take 4 and 5 over 1 alone for sure this year.

Last year it was the opposite.

LOL at preferring 4 & 5 over 1. No way that is the case. Lonzo Ball is going to be a taller Jason Kidd who can shoot. Not to mention we'd have the Lakers unprotected pick next year.
Jeff Bezos says that if Amazon has a good quarter it’s because of work they did 3, 4, 5 years ago—not
because they did a good job that quarter.

Jason Kidd is on another planet defensively.

I'd take 1 over 4 and 5 because you don't pass up getting the best guy in the draft (especially when the other pick still gets conveyed next year), but either scenario would be awesome

I love Lonzo Ball too, but he isn't worth Smith and Isaac, or any other 2 of the top 6. I don't think he is Jason Kidd with a jump shot though. Jason Kidd was one of the best college players that I ever saw, and I don't think that Ball is THAT good.

Next year's draft is worse than this one, and the Lakers would have to be better than they are this year.

We don't know about next year yet. It very well could be that the top 2 prospects in 2018 (DeAndre Ayton and Luka Doncic) are both rated higher than any player in the 2017 draft.

The draft this year looks very good, but I'm not sure there are any prospects on the Davis/Embiid/Simmons/Towns Tier 1. At this early stage it looks like Ayton and Doncic could both be on that tier.

Plus, the Lakers are no guarantee to get better. I could easily see them finishing bottom 3 next year. They don't have any superstar potential currently, and adding a 19 year old from this draft won't make them better quickly.

Because of all that I'd probably rather have #1 this year and the 2018 LAL unprotected as opposed to #4 and #5 this year.

4 and 5 leaves you with two of Fultz, Smith, Ball, Jackson, and Isaac. Any two of those players is easily worth more than just Ball.

That might be true, but the comparison isn't two prospect vs. Ball. It is two prospects vs Ball AND 2018 unprotected.

Ball is unlikely to be the first overall pick IMO

So the question becomes what are the odds that LA's pick in next year's draft nets us a better player than one of Fultz, Ball, Smith, Jackson, or Isaac. I'd say the odds are pretty low. This is a historically deep draft and the Lakers should improve next year. They already surpassed their win total from last year. D'Lo will take another step forward and Ingram probably won't be the worst player in the NBA.

It's between him and Fultz right now and it's close imo. Both of them are tremendous prospects.

That's true, but I'll take the top 5 pick this year over the hopes of a top 5 pick next year.

Last year I was totally fine not getting the Lakers pick because the draft was so weak after the first two. This year is the best year in a long time to have two top 5 picks.

No there are no Simmons' this year, but we don't need another superstar. 2 is enough. We shouldn't be gambling anymore.

I have Fultz as being decidedly a better prospect than Ball. Ball, Smith Jr, and Jackson are in my second tier.

Would've rather seen him suspended for a game that they weren't already probably gonna lose, like the Hawks or Pelicans, but oh well beggars can't be choosers

Cousins will be suspended for every 2 techs going forward. At his current rate, he'll be suspended another 4 times this season. This is pretty huge for our swap equity.

Guys like DMC and Dray should overthink their behaviour, because they hurt their teams with how they act. Some folks would say, that they are just passionate or stuff like that, but for me they are just whiny douchebags.

they both are the most important players for their teams. they help their teams much more than hurt them with those few techs here and there

See some talk about if we wind up with the fourth and fifth picks this year. I'd prefer to see Markkanen paired with Embiid and one of the picks moved if that's the case. I have no faith in DSJ/Monk/Tatum/Frank/etc. Assuming Fultz and Jackson are gone by that point of course
