13th place now, tied with Portland. I just did the sim at Tankathon. 13th pick was Harry Giles.

In that range Giles would be a great catch, but I honestly doubt he slips that far. After he signs an agent they will have him work with a trainer to get that explosiveness back & tell teams it was just part of the healing process (or something like that). He'll bounce back up the board during individuals.

I've still got some combo of Rabb, Leaf, Williams, Hartenstein in that range, so we could still end up grabbing a long term PF that fits this current group.

Here are my impressions of the players in our current draft range:

A lot of PFs, and so far only two types of PFs have worked alongside Whiteside, stretch 4s that stay out of his way and energetic small 4s like Luol Deng, cutting and moving a lot and staying out of his way.

Leaf: Take him if he's there. Ceiling is as high as Kevin Love. Floor is a rich man's Luke Babbitt, so he would be starting for us right now lol Who knows though, maybe he's being boosted by playing with Lonzo.

Harry Giles: Hasn't looked good to me. I'm weary, but if Leaf is off the board, might as well take a gamble if our scouts think he's better than he's shown.

Bridges: Looks like he'll be a 6-5 PF. I don't know, I haven't seen a full game.

Williams: In the game I watched he looked like a better Jarvis Varnado, which isn't spectacular.

Hartenstein: great size, nice highlights, but he's not getting enough PT.

Rabb: I see PJ Brown. The rebounding won't translate unless he gains strength. Why doesn't he shoot more threes? I'd like to know if he's got that in him.

Ferguson: 5.4 PER in Australia. No thanks.

Anunoby: If the injury isn't too serious, i'd take him and groom him as a poor man's Deng. Aminu is a good comp for him.

swanigan: beastly (beasley) numbers per 40. havent seen him play, don't know what to think

dx has been updated, saying heat gets hartenstein at 13.

Bridges concerns me but I'm intrigue'd with his upside

Haven't seen Robert Williams too much but not in love.

Didn't want Anonuby as a top 10 pick, hope he still gets picked in that region to push other prospects. Giles too, someone needs to give him some drugs so he can over perform

He fastv

Not a Bacon fan but if our hand gets forced, he'd be a cool project

2.2% chance of a top 3 pick if the season ended today.

If you guys stay in that late lotto range or even get in the Playoffs, a guy that is interesting is Andrew Jones freshman combo-guard out of Texas, has many of the treats the Heat value, athletic, versatile, solid defender, can shoot, has some extra upside, he is not the best playmaker but hasnt played PG for a long time, he is somewhat comparable to Jrue Holiday.
Dunno If he will declare, but seriously he is a good sleeper.

That's a good tip, thanks.

But unless we trade one of Dragic/TJ/Richo, or think we are not able to resign Waiters, then Jones isn't really the best fit for us. We will be aiming to return a back-court/wing rotation of Dragic/Waiters/Winslow/TJ/Richo/McGruder/JJ (also time at PF), so there's not really a lot of minutes there.

Our real place of need is starting PF. We need someone who can play a bit of D, and shoot the schit out of the ball from deep. If they have enough length & strength to spend some time at C when Whiteside is on the bench, then even better. For me, Isaac & Markkanen are the two best fits for us in this draft from that perspective, but they will go way too high for us ([fantasy]unless we miss the PO & strike lotto gold, but then we probably take one of the PGs & trade Dragic for a mid-lotto & target one of those as well [/fantasy]), so we are now stuck shopping at the Leaf/Hartenstein level.

Giles had a decent game for his own level, they missed him on a few screens too

One of these screens featured in the Yatum dunk, geez. When he gets some weight behind his shoulders/legs... He might still just be an alright player but something to watch I'd say

Rex, ya' boi

Big last few minutes. Big, if true

Just want to let you guys know that it gets murky knowing who your team might draft after about the 11th pick. We could be picking 16th and draft someone we might've never discussed before like Johnathan Motley.

wasx wondering when GRayson Allen was going to have a game like that. one more of those in the tourney will get him top ten. The dunk impressed me the most though. I didnt know his release was that fast.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Nbadraft.net has Robert Williams being drafted at #7. It's also been stated that he has a 7'5.5 wingspan. As of right now he's my #1 pick for our range. If we were to draft Williams we'd basically be picking top 7 talent. My #2 pick is Tyler Lydon because he'd fit nicely next to Hassan and he already has NBA 3-point range while shooting nearly 82% from the free-throw line.

Pulled a DWade at the line to finish, but it was enough.

Nice!! Tuning in now. Feel like we are in a better spot to nab Rabb anyway. Seen Rabb anywhere from 10-15.

Both dealing with fouls right now, unfortunately. Hopefully the second half will be better.
