You could say he was a really good 2nd round pick but to compare him to other max players he falls really short even when healthy.

I don´t hate him at all and think he was good in Houston, but Memphis giving him the max is a **** disaster.

He's a quality player, but so fragile. Certainly not worth his Mav's contract much less Grizzlies one.

I don't know what Parsons did to earn his reputation as somebody who doesnt care. Can anybody update me? He looks like a good player who got hurt once too many times. What'd I miss? Why the hate?

He's good when healthy, looks broken at this point, and yeah, he's probably more about the life than the game.

It's hard to judge his play when he is not even on the court. If he gets to at least to 70 % I think the grizzlies will be playing the warriors in the West finals for sure he has show flashes so far especially when he plays with Gasol.

What if he is already at 70% and only shows minimal improvement throughout the next few years.

He's injury prone but I'm starting to believe it was a good signing for the future, they don't really need him this season but in the next few years he will be very important as Tony Allen and VC slow down/retire, and it kept him from going to a similar tier team in the west-Portland. He seems to get involved with recruiting also, which they'll need help with to get possibly another star to sign and play 3rd fiddle next to Conley and Gasol in a smaller market like Memphis.

No idea how he got a max contract after dallas, he was awful. cuban letting his biffle go was a huge indication of how friendship doesnt run on money

This is why I like NFL. If players coast they can be cut and the money can be given to other players.

NBA needs to get rid of guaranteed contracts. Too many bums mail it in when they get paid.

Parsons may suck on the court but he is KILLING IT off the court. BEAST.

He's definitely not worth the contract he signed (blame Grizzlies Management not Parsons) and he's having an awful year with the Grizzlies but he & Brandon Wright are huge factors to this team come playoff time. Right now the Grizzlies are a marginal playoff team but with a now healthy & increasingly productive Brandon Wright and if Parsons ever comes around to his normal play of 14 / 5 / 3 with good 3pt% then Grizzlies can become a dangerous team in the playoffs for anyone.

His biggest problems are he's not a good defender and compared to the rest of the roster he seems to be one of the lazier guys on the floor. I have no idea how this guy is such a good 3pt shooter when his shot is so flat. Also he seems to be very much about the NBA lifestyle outside of the lines (the clubbing, partying, the crew, the ho's, etc). VC has a routine that after every game he does 20 minute gym/weights workout and he's 40 years old...Parsons has been in the league 6 years and he seems more interested in hitting up groupies on instagram then getting himself correct to help the team out. The fact that Coach Fizdale sticks Parsons on the bench during crunchtime in the 4th and crucial plays says how much faith he has in the dude. I think this year might just be a wasted one for him & Grizz fans and the real/more productive Parsons will show up year 2....which is unfortunate because this Grizz nucleus isn't getting any younger and they have to wait on an immature party boy to catch up to their championship aspirations while that window swiftly closes.

It's clear he's not interested in basketball. Why not just cash out from Robert Pera's generosity and become a player agent? (in 5 years)
