Barry Davis Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by rarefind » Mon Feb 13, 2017 6:26 pm

Barry Davis has decided to pursue other opportunities and is no longer with the company. We thank him for all his great work at Sportsnet and wish him the best. 2017 is expected to be another exciting season for the Blue Jays, and we look forward to bringing Canadians exclusive coverage of Canada’s team.

Not gonna lie, I'll miss Barry and those awkward, cringeworthy interviews where he tried to come off as one of the guys and got rejected every time.

I felt bad for the guy... the players clearly didn't respect him. That had to wear on him. Also, he always seemed pretty anxious on air.

With Hazel around, he was the obvious one to go. Hopefully he got a fat juicy severance package and he finds success in whatever's next for him.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Pretty sure he got fired. That's the standard corporate line for when anyone gets canned.

Wow on Twitter he's hyping his new venture... Front man in a Tom Petty cover band.

I say this in all seriousness, and as a legit Tom Petty fan...

Doesnt seem like "an opportunity"

lol

Hey, don't knock tribute bands. They're the only rock and roll musicians below the elite who ever make any money. Like, ever.

OK OK.... I will admit seeing a really good Metallica cover band a while back.

You should have your And-1s revoked for missing the "Runnin' Down a Dream" opportunity.

He was always awkward in almost every interview he did, whether it was when he was covering the Raptors, Jays or any other sport. Had to cringe a lot of times, hoping the player he was interviewing didn't snap at him.
