Chill brah, youve spent too much time on these forums and been talking nonsense for a while now.

Feel free to prove me wrong until then you have no ground to tell me that i'm talking nonsense

You said his jumper is awful this season
I posted the stats which prove that it's better than last year, and his 3PT% is above league average
Then you backtrack and say "woah, I never said he never had it, just the last 2 months"
FOH, man, I've posted the numbers numerous times that his jumper went through a slump, but to claim it's "broken" or that it's "awful" this year (implying it was better last year) is completely wrong, and you're just moving the goalposts

You all need to calm down....

Porzingis is fine..

His drop in performance is due to the whole team playing poorly.

The atmosphere and chemistry is not very good for the last 20 games..

I'm not worried.. He is a bright and mentally strong kid.

I normally disagree with your points but you are flat out right here he has gotten better as a shooter. What people seem to forget is how long it took KP to get his shot going his rookie year.

Is he that much better? Someone linked an article where he started off the season (first 15 or 20 games) on fire, was averaging 20ppg, but since then he's at 14.1 ppg, and his shooting numbers are down - to last season, along with the scoring average.

I mean, the whole season counts, but KP went from looking significantly better than last year to significantly worse. It's like a tale of two seasons. Maybe after the AS break, he'll turn it around again.

I think you're forgetting how bad he was at times last season.

Exactly. How can a flower grow in a garbage can with the lid still on? These are dark days for this organization.

My question for you guys about KP. I think he is an amazing talent and will be a good to great player in this league.....

On the defensive side of the ball is where my question lies. Is he going to ever be able to guard 5s in this league and not get bullied around. I understand he is young and might get bigger but if he gets too big it might hurt some of his strengths which is his quickness. Or is he always going to be a 4 and just have terrible perimeter defense? I am just trying to envision where he will be playing in 2-3 years.

I think so. He's going to fill out a little bit more naturally as well as continue to put in the work in the weight room. It may take some time but I think it will happen. We have to remember how young this kid is. Also I think him being better than expected last year has maybe been a bit of a curse as the timetable of our expectations for him has gotten a bit out of wack. He was viewed as a 4 year project and people were ok with that but then we saw the shot blocking and rebounding in his rookie year and thought he would be the finished article sooner. I don't think there's any shame in a learning curve but we're obviously desperate for a homegrown young franchise player and so we want him to grow up faster than is reasonable.

I'm with you. Hoping he rediscovers his game and becomes consistent. He's still back to rushing his 3point shots or fails to square up too often... these are bad habits that one has to recognize before they will stop but, at the same time once recognized they can be easily fixed. Some of the other issues, letting guy blow past hoping you can block a shot is not good defense.

Another thing he is doing that he didn't do as much last year is jump on defense. Wish he would stop it. Does it on pump fakes and when closing out on perimeter shooters. Last year he used his verticality much better imo.

He has lost all his confidence and has lost most of the trust fanbase had in him because of his utterly poor performance on both ends. He said he isn't soft - shooting his broken ass jumper when not in balance while lane is open for a dunk is the first sign of a softie. Only thing he had going before(his wet jumper) is gone and he has nothing else to show... NOTHING. And not to mention ball-watching on D and constantly losing his man after first 5 seconds of opposing offense. Some might say it's due to the team in general being trash, well he is one of the biggest facets of Knicks doing poorly.

And to those who constantly protect him from any criticism must finally admit that he is not "proving people wrong on skinny soft euro stereotype" because thats exactly who he is... AND WITHOUT A RELIABLE JUMPER.

Sum up some stats for past 2 months and you should understand what I meant. Or enlighten me and tell me where I indicated that he has never had a jumper

Rather than asking him to look only at stats for last two month, perhaps you shouldnt refer in your post on the whole season if.you are only talking about recent slump.

He is playing better ofensively than last season, just perhaps less flashy. The numbers support it, unless you try to cherry pick the ones supporting your agenda.

I've posted about his shooting a lot, just looking at the splits, January was the first month he shot under 40% from 3, however his FG% and FT% both increased for that month
So really, his shot went away around when his achilles started bothering him, which would explain the janky shooting motion he's developed recently, and I believe he's just going through a slump outside of that

Glad to see KP is picking up endorsements. I'd rather see him picking up muscle and a post game

KPs got some great comedic timing

Return to New York Knicks
