Can't see Cleveland trading up since they aren't one superstar away from contending and trading the 33rd and a 1st rounder next year would be a lot of potential talent they would be giving up.

I believe you draft either Jamal Adams / Solomon Thomas / or trade down.

Many years ago, I said if the 9ers had the #1 pick we should draft Sean Taylor (safety from Miami). People boo'ed the crap out of me and ridiculed me for months for "proposing" such an idea. Fast forward to today, I still feel the same as I did when I made that statement in 2004--and I don't think there's a safety that's worth drafting in the top 10 pick (with the exception of Sean Taylor), which is why I say hell no to Adams at #2.

I'm content with the idea of drafting Solomon Thomas if we can't find a trade partner for us to be able to move down.

This may all be a moot point though because I think the top 3 QBs are going to light it up at the combine, at least one of them will seriously impress folks causing the draft landscape to shift tremendously. Meaning that the Browns will get antsy and will reevaluate their approach and eventually decide to go with a QB with their #1 overall pick...leaving Garrett for us to take.

out of your proposal, I'd rather Thomas than Adams/S that early.

A trade down would be ideal, not too far down. nothing pass ten for me unless its a cant miss deal.

Here's a mock that has us drafting a safety with our 2nd overall pick. I actually like Hooker better than Adams, I like him a lot as a player, but even with him I think drafting him at #2 is too high.

Just some people I personally trust said this, but Solomon Thomas will be drafted ahead of Allen because of his higher potential.

I've heard you guys want to trade down badly.

There are rumblings that Allen has a shoulder injury. He has already had two surgeries in the past and there might have been an unreported recent third. This could change his draft stock.

its nothing against Hooker but no way i could sign off a S at #2 when i believe we have other pressing needs.

If it wasn't for Baalke draft a god damn platoon of secondary players, maybe i would've been more open

If they draft a Safety, they better trade back about 8-10 spots first...

Reuben Foster - LB - Player

The Buffalo News' Vic Carucci passes along "a lot of buzz" that the 49ers could draft Alabama ILB Reuben Foster with the No. 2 overall pick.

Carucci is one of the NFL's most well-connected beat writers, having worked for multiple teams and as a reporter for NFL.com. Even if he gets past San Francisco at No. 2, Carucci fully expects Foster to be drafted in the single digits. After watching Foster's college tape, ESPN's Louis Riddick described him as "everything I want in a run-and-hit linebacker," and "vicious" on the field. Foster, however, is presently recovering from rotator cuff surgery.

What's with the 2nd pick and later conditional pick for Cousins and 17th pick talk? Wouldn't it take more than that to get a franchise qb and the 17th pick? Is Washington really that concerned they can't resign Cousins?

I keep telling ya, it's not over yet for us to land Garrett

Mitch Trubisky - QB - Player

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports North Carolina QB Mitch Trubisky is "on the Browns' radar at No. 1 overall."

There had been concerns about his height, but Trubisky measured in at 6-foot-2 and 1/8-inches at the combine. Asked about the measurement, Browns coach Hue Jackson said his threshold is 6-foot-2 for a quarterback and that height is "an important piece of the puzzle." It seems relevant to note Cody Kessler, who the Browns drafted in the third round last season, is "only" 6-foot-1. Drafting a guy with limited experience like Trubisky at No. 1 overall would seem to go against the way the Browns attacked the draft last season. It remains more likely they take Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett if they stick in the No. 1 spot.

I would not be upset at a lot of picks TBH... including QBs....

that said, I'd be happy with Foster at 2

Just reading that first trade scenario, they address their outside pass rush need by drafting Reuben Foster? Whaaaa???

I'm sure any buzz about him being taken by the 9ers is dead now with him being sent home and reportedly not interviewing well. An ILB at #2 would've been a stretch as it was but you're not going to take an ILB at #2 if there are potential problems with them.
