5 years later I go through security and go to scan my ticket and realized my tickets were for tn not last night. Ugh. I already made the drive in to Boston, paid to park, got drunk (gf drove home), so I go to the box office. Tickets are available. Great where at? Floor. Perfect! I go to the floor expecting to be in the back but I was Dead center, 14 rows back from the stage. Best seat in the house (I don't like being too close, worse sound quality and can't see the production). My original seats were ****. Last row in the balcony. Had a great time at the show and sold my original tickets on stubhub this morning. Now I'm waaaay to hungover for work but great night
Been on a RHCP trip recently. It's amazing to me, but the rare example of a band whose second half of their career was better then their first. Shoot, they were the biggest band in the land for a good year or so in 1991-92, no? And I'd say that like 8 of their 10 best songs came after that, if not 11 of their best 15. Just amazing. Probably the best rock band around from the late 80s onward, maybe by a lot. As a guy who was into them even before Uplift Mofo Party Plan came out, I can say that I definitely did not have that in the pool.
I was born in 1990 and can't really comment on their popularity in 91-92 lol. but ya it's definitely odd for a band to produce some of their better work later in their careers. I'm not really sure who from the 90's rivals them. Metallica maybe but their better stuff was in the 80s. pearl jam has gottta be up there too
