I sort of hate Dei Lynam, and rarely give any value to things she says. She has a bitter edge to her and clings to the way the league was before when her Dad was coaching.

Wow. That's surprising to me. I have always liked Dee, and never thought that she was bitter about anything.

Move on. Sunk cost.... yada, yada.

This is stupid.

Trading Okafor for a 2nd round pick isn't addition by subtraction. It's just subtraction. We aren't selecting anyone close to Okafor skillset with a 2nd. In fact the odds are very very low the 2nd round pick ever plays a meaningful minute for us.

So yeah if we have to bench Okafor and tell him to work on his rebounding and cardio before he plays another minute then I'd rather do that. If he ends up being benched for the rest of his sixer career I'm fine with that as well. However, I don't think the offers were that bad. Stein is reputable.

Plus lets think about this if the offers are that bad why bother going through this dog and pony show about a trade being close? BC ain't trading Okafor for a 2nd. So why the pretense?

I am not a fan of his game, but Jahlil been very mature about this, getting drafted to a team that already had two centers. I'm sure him, his family, and agents are disgusted that he was drafted by a team that they likely view as an awful fit for him. He prob is told often that he had a great rookie season with his 17 and 7 or whatever. I'm sure after this nightmare of a season he will not stick around quietly. Whether you think he stinks or not, playing on a team with two other guys also developing at your natural position, is a horrible situation to be stuck in.

She went on a Hinkie rant a while back, never liked her before, really hated her then. Her arguments and thoughts were so very mediocre team oriented, like the kind her old man always coached.

I have no opinion on Dei. But I tend to agree with Skates so now I dislike her. Odds are he was right.

A lot of Okafor's problems are also fit, his game does not mesh with the style Brown and the Sixers want to run. I am not a huge fan of his lack of rebounding, but his defense is improving and on the right team he can be a very efficient scorer. There are plenty of bigs who are complete turds their first few years and end up being very good players. Jah has shown far more skills than that early on, but is a total misfit for a team that is uber switch heavy and plays almost an improvised motion offense that is trying to become more Spurs like.

A second rounder is crap, he is worth more than that. People act as if keeping him now means keeping him for two more years. This is a weak big man draft and young for young trades aren't typical of the deadline type deals, usually vets for young and/or picks. He is a sunk cost as the number three pick in the draft, but worthy of a role player/mid first rounder offer at least. Jah will be gone by the summer, maybe by the deadline, and for more than a second rounder.

Okafor for Patrick McCaw.

Okafor for Dante Exum.

Who cares. Go after perceived busts on other teams as long as they're guards. Just do something different so we can move on from Okafor.

I liked her as an interviewer back in the day, and not a commentator. I've never heard her make negative Hinkie comments before though.

yeah no to just trading him for a second rounder.

for one thing we kinda don't have space for second round talent anyway so it would be a waste.

Well you would be trading Okafor which opens up a spot. Unless you are saying we don't have a spot for Okafor...

Anyone else hoping Harris just gets tired of all of the bad press and cashes in on his investment this summer and the new owners simply clear the management decks and start over in the FO?

Isn't the new CBA increasing the size of rosters so teams can stash players in the G-League?

Uhm im willing to bet harris is waiting out for team to get good, build new stadium, sell team.

Biggest thing right now for me personally with ownership is just tell the fans the truth starting from the jerry colangelo hiring...stop bs'ing us we arent the nj devils fan base where parades are in a parking lot.

I understand the league forced JC on us who than hired BC, but to go from hinkie who id grade as an A to A+ gm to BC is a damn shame.

He cant even trade a 20 yr old who avg 17&7 last yr. Im not a fan of okafor, but cmon he shouldve at the very least traded him over the summer.

Not to be a hinkie apologist, but im def of the belief that 1. He wanted porzingis and 2. He wanted to trade jah to boston at the deadline last yr and i truly believe ownership shot him down both times. For a guy who played things close to the vest, there were alot of leaks about those 2 particular scenarios.

This situation with ownership/mgmt lies and jah is a joke.

Part of the problem is with the way Jah is playing what contender wants him right now? How does he help them?

I still think like I said at the beginning of the thread once the draft rolls around and the lack of bigs becomes apparent some team is going to put forth a decent offer. Which won't come from a contender. Whether that offer takes the form of a player or pick I don't know but most rebuilding teams don't make deadline deals where they add players. They are looking to subtract.

Teams that may take interest in Jah:
= Teams with high payrolls that lacks talent
= Teams desperate to rebuild
= Teams with a star big departing (maybe if DMC or AD gets traded)

I say interest. So I hope the hyper Nokafors don't get offensive.

For those of you who think he will be traded: he may, but remember this. Everyone expected him to be traded on draft night, and back then the rumors were we could get a top 10 pick for him in the 2016 draft. Now, I don't know what was offered, but I can guarantee you it's better than what we're being offered now, and if BC didn't pull the trigger then, I don't think he will now.

People were incredulous and couldn't believe Okafor and Noel were still here after draft night, but the fans didn't make a huge deal of it, because they landed 3 fan favorites in Simmons, Luwawu, and Korkmaz. So it kinda became an afterthought. I see the same thing here though, but nothing else to steal the show this time. Just like the draft, I think the deadline will come and go... no deal.

Then just like after the draft, Colangelo will say the same exact thing that he did in June: "Offers weren't good enough, and I'm not making a bad deal."

You gotta feel for coach Brown. The guy must have been on cloud 9 there for a couple of days.

Sucks for Holmes too.....a lot of talent not being developed as it should be.

Ugh!
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.
