The all star break should really help! He probably needs some good rest!

Looks like it'll only take one game for Nurkic to supplant Meyers. I'd like to say I'm shocked.... but that's not true.

Benching him doesn't make sense. You gotta let guys work through slumps. You can definitely tell he's not 100% tho.

While I'm not in favor of the benching idea, resting him for a game or two before the ASB would be fine.

I agree that we should bench Dame for about 5-6 games. The more CJ plays "lead dog" the more his potential trade value goes up... along with our pick.

Seriously though, I'm quite happy to see Nurk's debut. It's moving my cautious optimism to be mildly unguarded optimism. Lets hope he's the starter the first game after the break.

Yea, I should be clear that I don't mean benching mid-game. I mean with the Blazer's in the position they're in, I want players held out extra long 'just for safety' with even the most minor of injuries.

I wonder that too. Pats been seeing more and more minutes and I'm not really sure why. I've never seen anything out of Connaughton that has even slightly impressed me. If I can't bother to learn to spell your name after two years, then you're really not impressing me.

Yeah, that I totally agree with. Let him get his body 100% rather than running out there at half-speed and killing his body for losses.

Exactly... go watch the 40 point games Lillard was dropping early in the season. Lillard looks like he's playing with 50 lb weights strapped to his ankles right now. I don't want to trot that guy out when it behooves this team to lose.

See... if this is going to be the case. I don't want him out there. Let's pull a Philly and blatant tank, even if only for 1 season. Get Nurkic figured out. Play the overpaid scrubs and bench warmers tons of minutes and see who drowns and who floats. We've go 3 first round picks as of this moment. We'll see what we have come the deadline, but the worse we are now, the better off we are next year.

Nurkic looked good on offense, but he's obviously out of shape. Not sure how he got that way in the middle of the season. He's big and has good footwork and mobility, but yeeeesh...those turnovers were ugly. That's the one red flag with his stats...a 19% turnover rate is huge. Portland will have to moderate his opportunities to make decisions with the ball

it will be the first time in a long time that the Blazers have an inside threat...but I'm not confident Stotts will know how to use that. I wanted to run for the vodka when I heard Callabro talking about how Stottts isn't sure yet if Nurkic should shoot three's.

Meyers got 1 rebound in 23 minutes; that's 1.6 rebounds/36...yeh Meyers!
