Not new at all but wanna say the mock trade deadline Nate, Danny, KP and Feldman do is so much fun and pretty hilarious.

Scottie Brooks on the Lowe Post was amazing. I was grinning so much. Makes me long for a coach with personality.

The bill simmons interview with kevin durrant is great. One of the best interviews ive ever heard a current player give. Durrant really seemed loose and real, not the typical canned bs answers.

Simmons just agrees with him on everything though, which we know he really woulnd't in the past.

The Jared Dudley podcast in the Ringer was actually great. He is the realest one out there.

I agree that Simmons isn't the best interviewer and has kind of lost his fastball in general but i always look at durrant as boring and guarded and seemed pretty cool on that interview.

Love dudley interviews especially with zach lowe. I kind of hate chris vernon and think hes a dbag so didn't love this one as much.

I would go as far as saying Simmons flat out sucks now. The one he did today or yesterday was fine, or maybe even good, right up until he talked **** about Magic mispronouncing/slurring "Westbrook". After that he went on to mispronounce just about every single player he talked about that wasn't on the Celtics. Oh and practically half the rest of the podcast was about the C's... which makes me hope they flame out in the first round and their Brooklyn pick falls as far down as possible.

Agree with you on Vernon though, he does the same thing Simmons does all while making me impressed he still has a podcast. The first time Jason Concepcion went on there with him, I'm pretty sure Jason couldn't believe the old fart he was talking to knew what a podcast was.

Agree with both. The ringer has been so disappointing.

I've never listened to Bill Simmons because frankly, I know there are plenty of other basketball minds out there with more knowledge.

With that being said, I do remember his description of Embiid pre-draft and it was totally spot on. He called him something to the effect of a mesmerizing athlete who moved from baseline to baseline effortlessly. That alone got me excited for him.

Podcast with Jeff Cook, Early 80s Suns, Drug Scandal Talk

Post#113 » by LamarMatic7 » Mon Feb 20, 2017 2:09 pm

How are you doing, Suns fans?

I had former Suns forward Jeff Cook on my podcast and we spent a decent amount of time talking about his stint with Phoenix given the amount of seasons he played for the franchise. Jeff shared his memories about the role he had on those teams, the 1980-81 57-win season which ended in a loss against Kansas City and just told stories about some of the franchise's players and coaches.

Felt like some of you might be interested in this and I hope you guys are alright with me coming here and doing some self-promotion. If it's against the rules of your specific section, then I apologize and I won't do so again.

Here's a snippet of the conversation where he talked about the 1987-88 season after the scandal:

Cheers!

Edit: Thanks to the mods for stickying this! That came as a pleasant surprise.

Daryl Morey interview. Very good points about the modern NBA, rebuilding strategies etc.

I use this list for the most part:

https://player.fm/featured/basketball

I have to say I'm really sick of O'Connor and Chris Vernon on the Ringer NBA one...Both their voices are incredibly irritating.

The Morey pod was a good one for sure. Lowe Post is still the best, Beck's new one The Full 48 is also good, and always have a soft spot for The Starters because they're serious fans who know their stuff.

I kind of liked KOC at first, but now he just sounds like he's trying too hard. Vernon is the worst though.
