Let Clifford tell it after the game he'll say "Marco played great tonight, he missed some shots and some defensive assignments, but the awareness and effort was there."

Tanking one season =/= burning the entire roster to ashes. We can keep our entire starting five and still land a top 7 pick. I think it's the way to go- just destroy that bench, please.

I wasn't overly serious with that point, just pointing out that the best way for this team to tank would be stop Kemba from playing for us.

We want a good pick? Put him on the shelf.

Unfortunately though Clifford and Co don't believe that rookies can contribute, so theres no point.

I mean, we're 2 for whatever when Zeller doesn't play. I really don't think it takes much more than holding out Zeller to tank this team. Kemba can get his, and we'll win just enough games to not be a blatant tank job and more of a disastrous failure. Cutting back on every starter's minutes (especially Kemba) is a must at this point though. If Kemba goes down with another injury while playing 37 minutes a game in this wasted season, that's the absolute worst case scenario.

Shut marvin down for the season. He's done.
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

I figured that Nic and Marv would be bad contacts eventually, but not in their first seasons on those deals. Gross.

Nic hurt the team even before the contract extention by ruining a playoff series. The team was just too worry that Nic won't sign a extention and need to show their love and trust by playing him in the playoffs, even that was more likely to harm the team.

If he becomes a 10-15 pt a night scorer with the occasional big 20+ night while being better than a traffic cone on defense, I'll be pretty ecstatic.

Yeah I disagree. We have a coach on record that he doesn't believe in rest and a team that has been besieged with injuries since he took the helm and he's yelling at his team not to take anymore than 2 days off for their All-Star break. I'm just putting two and two together here. I also know that sometimes the best way to bust a slump is to take a break and come back with renewed vigor and reset muscle memory instead of staying locked in a gym until you hate basketball with every fiber of your being.

Lamar writes, "Charlotte is at 79.7 as a team, which ranks them second in the league." This is a misleading statistic, because the Hornets also fail to box out. That means they are sixteenth in the league in rebounding differential at +-0. If they are giving up just as many rebounds as they pull in, their supposed prowess on the boards is not winning them many games:

Our DRB% is 79.7%, 2nd in the league. We don't fail to box out on the defensive end. Our differential is low because we punt ORBs.

Note how if you sort that graph you posted by defensive boards, we are 1st in the league (not pace adjusted). Sort by opponent O boards, and we are 4th in the league (again, not pace adjusted).

Looking at individual DREB% is a decent starting point but defensive rebounding is a team metric and no team epitomizes that like Charlotte. The goal being a handler securing the rebound to enter offense in lieu of easy transition buckets. And when possible, freeing Cody to punish lingering 5's while the 4's stretch the floor vertically.

Try counting FGA/FTA misses where a big defers to a smaller teammate. That's by design.

Offensive rebounding is an individual thing and indirectly expresses that player's limitations. Cause there's a reason why a player is available to grab an OREB and it's not always a good thing.
