The Rest Of The Season (What Are You Hoping For?)
alright we've hit the all star break so it could be a boring week with no games... we don't play until next Thursday (vs. Hornets) which is also the same day as the trade deadline.
we have 25 games left, what are you guys hoping for with the rest of the season? do you want to see anyone traded? do you want us to tank and join the lottery? do you want us to make playoffs? what are your expectations if we make playoffs?
personally i wouldn't be too upset if reggie was traded. he's obviously hampered by his injury but i'm more concerned with his attitude. i think we have a pretty good locker room but reggie definitely rubs me the wrong way so i can imagine how the players feel. the fact that andre thinks so highly of him probably isn't great either, i'd rather have more mature players making their impressions upon dre.
anyways, whether we trade reggie or not i hope we make playoffs and then from there i just want to see us put up a good fight. we'll likely play cleveland or boston and i would hope we can take a couple games off those teams.

Re: The Rest Of The Season (What Are You Hoping For?)
Generally speaking, I'd like to see this team end with 41 or more wins, a first round playoff matchup that is not the Cavs, and at least one playoff game win. I think that would make the season somewhat redeemable given the RJ injury and disappointing first half of the season.
As far as trades, I'm ok with moves as long as they don't involve us dealing away first round picks. SVG has proven to be effective at making deals during the deadline, so I'm just taking a wait and see approach this time around. I'm ok with no trades if we can achieve what I described above. We can then address stuff in the offseason.

Re: The Rest Of The Season (What Are You Hoping For?)
Playoffs!!! Prefer 6th or 7th seed.
Trades? I'd like to be surprised. I think our roster is solid, but we could use some more superstar power. But I am fine to run with what we have. Eventually, it would be good to get a vet or two on the bench that knows their roles but could help some of our young guys to "grow up".

Trade Baynes and Reggie (or shut him down to heal); hope to not see Cleveland or Washington in the playoffs; hope that Stanley Johnson gets some playing time and a longer leash

I hope that Andre returns to top 50 NBA player under 25 status...

I wanna trade Reggie too but value-wise we're going to get screwed. Is there an NBA player who's trade value has fallen further than Reggie's this year?

Re: The Rest Of The Season (What Are You Hoping For?)
I'm going to skew this question a tiny bit (sorry) and say what I want to end this season and a little beyond it...
1) Trade Andre Drummond + Darrun Hilliard to BOS for Armir Johnson, Tyler Zeller & 2017 Brooklyn 1st Round Pick
2) Trade Reggie Jackson to Philadelphia for top 10 protected 2019 1st round draft pick
3) Finish the year 0-25 (vaulting us into the 5 worst records this season)
4) End up with picks 2 + 6 in the draft this year
5) Draft Markelle Fultz/Lonzo Ball at #2, and some other good college player at #6, or trade down and draft Miles Bridges
(I don't know too much about the draft this year, so... lots of grains of salt)
6) Sign Yogi Ferrell in the offseason
7) Cry because Tyler Zeller would then be our starting C
I really think we need a quick retool, and I can't think of a better way to do that than getting one (or two) high picks in this draft. Gives us a quick infusion of young talent, gives us some cap relief (however fleeting it would be, as we'd have to sign KCP to 20M+ a year), and then if SJ, Ellenson, Fultz/Ball & our other pick prove they can play, we can make a push for the playoffs as early as next year, or in 2-3 years allowing us to once again go for another high draft pick and hope to get out future C.

Trading Drummond would be worse than the combination of signing J Smoove, BG and CV....

Hoping for? An NBA championship.
Expecting? Not much.

Yeah, if you're part of his family.

Re: The Rest Of The Season (What Are You Hoping For?)
If we could get the Boston pick for Drummond, I'd do that, but if it costs our original pick, I wouldn't bother. Beyond that, trade Baynes for whatever we can get for him even if it's not much, shut down Reggie for the year and encourage him to get surgery if it helps him long term, figure out what we need to do to make numbers work for next year and make a trade now if need be (Harris? Leuer? I'd like to keep them both, but luxury tax....), and just let Ish run the show. What will be will be.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Re: The Rest Of The Season (What Are You Hoping For?)
I'm hoping for a mature team that conducts itself like professionals playing for one another and competing in every game as if it is their last.
No head hanging.
No slumping back in the paint when you're supposed to close hard on shooters.
No standing with your hands to the side while players drive the lane.
No hero ball when a hockey assist can lead to an easy bucket.
Nothing but hard-nosed intense team play that looks to smack the league in the mouth.

Re: The Rest Of The Season (What Are You Hoping For?)
I'm hoping for an entire team approaching the game as Johnson, Leuer, Harris, Caldwell-Pope, Smith, Baynes do. with their limits, their mistakes, but giving a **** possession after possession.
You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Re: The Rest Of The Season (What Are You Hoping For?)
To be honest at this point the number of wins really doesn't mean much of anything...positioning in the post season is much more relevant..at minimum I hope we hold onto the 7th seed if not move up...people still underestimate how much of an impact injuries have had on this team and still do (Reggie).
