Since it only looks like 2 weeks I'd sign him in a heartbeat. We've got a week off for the all star break so that helps. As long as he's good in the lockerroom, sign him up. Get it done. We need his size, toughness and skill.

He was doing just fine for New Orleans to begin the year, before his groin tear.

Exactly, that was his biggest issue (lockerroom)
It wasn't his play

And from what I heard he wants to play here. He knows his skill set, he looks around sees wiggens, Kat, Lavine, and Thibs as your coach. My guess is that's enough to change that lockerroom stuff and act more mature.

That part is important. For the very reason he's been with a number of teams makes me think he'll be on his best behavior.

I feel bad for dude. That's bad luck for him, but he looked good to me. The guy needs to stay healthy, get in shape, and prove that he's pulled himself together. There's No Way Born Ready is NOT in the NBA! Not in my NBA, anyway.

Last season:
Though his defense came and went, Stephenson carried the offense when he was on the court and was fairly efficient despite his chucking. At the very least, Stephenson proved he could be a valuable scorer off the bench for offense-starved second units, and showed flashes of the player he used to be.

Are we not one of those offense-starved second units that could use a valuable scorer off the bench?

Let's be honest, a two year deal for a vet (assuming we won't overpay him) isn't a massive commitment in this league, I'd have no problem with us offering that to Lance.

If he's bad he's still probably better than most of the bench players we've had the last few years and if he turns out to be good he's a valuable asset to have.

Well I think he wants to be anywhere. He just wants to be on a team.

But yea I'd probablyh sing. Especially with the high possibility of losing Shabazz to trade or free agency. Bench needs all the help it can get.

How about we just tell him to call us when he's ready to go and we'll give him another 10 day contract?

It is about mutual trust. As far as I remember NOP waived him and told that they would call him once he is back.

Lance Stephenson player on the court is a clear upgrade in almost everything for this team. Outside, is a risk that I'll be glad to assume at least until end of the season.

kind of a low bar to commit a 2 year contract to

Its also untrue he sucked with New Orleans as well just not as badly as he has with us so far

He played well considering his role in NOP, and the lack of chemistry. Once again, he should not be a savior here, he is role player at this point of his career.

I mean he played badly which you can maybe explain by the circumstances but he didn't come close to playing well

That's all we need him to be is a role player. His upside on a cheap contract coming off the bench is to great to ignore giving the fact that he is more mature and give us a veteran presence with playoff experience and he is only 26 years old

He didn't play bad for the pelicans and he didn't play bad for memphis and the end of last year either
