I seriously think we should go for Caleb Swanigan with the Clippers Pick; Guys like Z-Bo lite; Bam with our pick.

I like TJ Leaf a lot. I think this is in and around where he goes late teens-early twenties. I hope we can pick him I don't think any of the huge potential guys will drop far enough to be an option with our picks like a Giles or Lauri I expect to much higher come draft day than what they are rated now.

Not really high on my list with Jakob and Pascal here. If one of them were to be traded then I would be intrested but only after seeing who else is available. His game is so much similiar to Ed Davis but with a better offensive game. Seems like we could do alot better with our picks.
Isaac Bonga looks intriguing. 6'9" big hands and very long arms, can shoot the 3 and seems pretty advanced for a 17 year old.
Why the heck would Jakob, a pure center, and Pascal a hustle big change anything? Rabb is a power forward and looks to be working on developing an inside out game. None of our big men have that skillset. Bonga looks great, but is not even eligible to be drafted until next year. Fill the need for a power forward now and small forward next year. Simple.
Hmm idk about pure center. Jakob just needs a jump shot and he can play PF. he's much better suited at that position than at c. he was always used as a C because he's 7"1. Id still be down to draft Rabb. defensively he's not great but at least he can rebound and shoot a jump shot
Perhaps I should rephrase. From what I've seen of Poeltl in college, in international play(haven't seen much at all) and in the NBA in particular, he looks best suited to play center. He's mobile for a 7'+ player, but at power forward he'd be average in that regard. I prefer he have an advantage some nights in quickness. His most glaring weakness at this stage, to me at least, is his lack of strength which is not unusual for a young, center prospect. Sure, he can see spot minutes at power forward, but why not have a little more quickness in the middle for a change? I actually think a Rabb and Poeltl frontcourt would be pretty nice on both sides of the floor, but I'm aware there have been 7 foot power forwards. Garnett kind of started that trend. There have even been guys who looked like pure centers and moved over to power forward seamlessly, including the greatest power forward to ever play the game. So yes, I could certainly be wrong about Poeltl's long term position, but from what I've witnessed, from the numbers he's posted, from his physical measurements and from every scouting report of him as a prospect coming into the league before the draft, he looks like a center to me.

Swanigan is fair value for that late a pick. He seems to be part of a dying breed of big man, but with the Clippers pick being in the 24-26 range we should just be hoping to draft a guy that stays in the league. That may seem like having low expectations, but most guys taken outside the lottery are out of the league within a few years, or never see the floor at all.
Getting a rotation player, even if it's only 10 minutes a game, for 1 million a year is a good value move. It frees up money for starting talent, which is where contenders spend their payroll.
Personally, I like Justin Jackson for a value selection with the Clippers pick. Small forward is still one of the thinnest positions in the league and certainly on this team.

Giles is a major candidate.

If Melton declares, he's my pick at the moment.
Otherwise, give me one of Collins, Leaf, Lydon, Justin Jackson.

So has it been confirmed that we are keeping the better of the two picks? When they say the "lower" was traded, that's confusing. Magic fans seemed to think they got the better of the two picks.

use this on a 3/4. We need a more physical presence on the wing.

Unfortunately, those kinds of players aren't available late. They're very much in high demand and the only guy who would fit the mold is the injured OG Anunoby. I'm down for drafting him, but it really depends on the specifics of his knee injury and a google search will yield no actual details of the injury. A few of us have looked. But even he many be gone by our pick. Wing players with size are hard to come by outside the top 5-10 in most drafts now.

Last night's loss brought us to the 20th pick. I expect things to turn around with the addition of Ibaka, but if they don't I'm alright with that.

20th pick isnt bad, lets hope we stay around 5th or 6th seed

This kid Semi Ojeleye is a sleeper. He's ranked in the 40's on DX, but is deserving of a first round selection. Thickly built at 235 pounds, and a 6'10" wingspan gives him a great shot in the NBA.
Currently he's shooting 47% from the field (12 ATT), and 42% from 3 (5 ATT). He's also getting a shade over 18ppg, and 6rpg per game in just under 34 minutes per game.
I can see him being in that Ron Artest, PJ Tucker mold of thick swingmen who can switch onto 4's.

2018 draft looks awful. Hope we draft a high potential guy like bruno even though it didn't work yet. We can afford to do it

Here's hoping Masai and Weltman continue their streak of getting quality rookies not taken in the 1st round. Powell, VanVleet, ?????
Of the guys currently in our range on DraftExpress for the 1st rounder: Lydon, Leaf, Jackson all work. All 3 seem like guys who at least have decent odds of being a rotation player, which is what you hope for outside the lottery.
