Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XXXII
i mean if your giving up a first for lou williams there's almost no reason not to bring back nick young as well unless you're sure he'd be a cancer. We'd only have him for the run this summer and he's shooting very well this year.
Lou/Young/Oubre/Smith/Mahinmi would be one of the stronger benches in the league.

I think the best bet might be if Deron Williams gets bought out and we can sign him. However, I expect him to join the Cavs just like all the other ring chasers.

Imagine how horrible that team would be defensively 1-4 especially when Oubre is playing like an idiot. Very little playmaking also. Nick young will never be serious about playing winning basketball. Hard pass for me

Elite defender Ian Mahinmi should be able to handle penetration from Lou and Young. Young really isn't a net negative defensively against bench players. The only hole really is Jason Smith getting stretched out by a mobile big that can shoot at the 4 off the bench. But that group wins 50 games easily.
I've changed my mind about bringing in Lou, I think 1.5 years is just not enough control to give up a first, but if you are going to give up a first to get him it would be foolish not to bring in another scorer that shoots 40% from deep and can get hot at any time.

maybe not, I mean we are attractive. like the cavs are that bomb ass bitch at the bar wearing a 500$ black dress drinking top self drinks that every one wants, big ass big chest, you knows shes going to rock your world, but you also know shes going to need expensive dinners and you have to buy her pricey bags and shoes and shes high maintenance AF. While we are the cute little sorority chick with a nice ass drinking rail tequila. You know we can lay it down just as good as cleavland, but we are not high maintenance. All we need is a little bit of weed, a cup of noodles and some cuddle time while watching the office.
I think that analogy makes sense, but its my day off, i dont have class today and I may or may not still be a little buzzed from last night lol.

Hmm. Would (2) 1st rd picks, Sato, Smith & Nicholson be enough for Bledsoe? He's signed for 2 more yrs @ $29 mil beyond this season. We get at least 3 playoff runs with a top 8 core of Wall, Beal, Porter, Morris, Gortat, Bledsoe, Oubre & Mahinmi.
That team would form the closest thing to the 86 Pistons we've seen in a long time: an 8-deep roster of starting-quality players (assuming Oubre emerges from his funk) with a 3-guard rotation rivaling that of Thomas, Dumars and Johnson.
Beal could probably steal 4-6 minutes at SF to make sure Bledsoe gets 30 minutes a night.
We have a roster of 8 starting caliber players right now, no?
No. Counting Mahinmi and Oubre, we have 7 players that could reasonably start on a half-decent team. Oubre is admittedly debatable, but I'm projecting more improvement throughout the season and into next year.

Yes. I think the bought out market might be the best solution. I don't like the risk/reward factor on most of the trade scenarios discussed.
I also think that a guy like Deron Williams might be a ring chaser, but he might want to join a team that could actually use him in a prominent role. I don't see Golden State, San Antonio, Houston, Boston or Toronto needing him. That just leaves us and Cleveland. And perhaps the Clippers.

Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XXXII
we could use a big trade to help us for the post break schedule, opening salvo is pretty brutal:
vs Jazz
vs Warriors
@ Raps
vs Raps
Chills out considerably after that, but if we can get through that stretch at .500 or better it would be awesome for momentum

It would depend on how many picks we are throwing at the trade.

Who besides Deron Williams might we expect to get bought out? This can't be a long list.

Derrick Rose? (Not that I want him.)
CJ Watson? (He sucks though.)

Jeff Green is a legit buyout candidate, Brandon Jennings is definitely done in NY.
I like D Will if we trade for Barton, or a more wing oriented player

Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XXXII
If Ted was willing to dip slightly into the tax for a season - at least as a backup plan - I wonder about the utility of Nicholson and one of our backup guards for Teletovic?
Teletovic has been awful this year and is even more expensive than Nicholson per year, but he was rather filthy last year in Phoenix, has a contract that's a year shorter and has a game well tailored to resucitation from Wizards ball movement.
If it was Satoransky in there to match salaries, it would actually be close to being salary neutral for next year.
You could still make a move for a backup point thereafter as well.

I wouldn't want to take the risk as he is over 30 and has never been a good defender. I think I prefer Nicholson's smaller cap number even if he is useless to us.

I'd happily take either one of those as a replacement for Burke. Its crazy to say, but I think our team culture is strong enough to keep a Derrick Rose in check.

If nothing else the idea provides a rare opportunity to say "nah, better to stick with Nicholson."
I'd be on the fence with it myself.
