Please someone convince me in a worse case scenario where we are picking around 9-12 that there are guys who will have a career as good as the top 8. I'm talking some non freshmen players and guys like smiles Bridges. I don't want to sit at 9-12 in a worse case scenario and think we messed up but winning too much and missed the boat. Who are some players who you think might be better than Tatum and Fox and Isaac should we win too much?

Who covers the point? The only one that you can even make an argument for is Covington and thats a far stretch.
In the caption above, who do you think guarded the point? In the modern nba teams will learn to guard the three point line and the rim.
In that case, probably lebron. That's also not an every day lineup.
So you're suggesting we just run zone? I don't see it working.

That line-up is tragic in every way possible. No wonder the Cavs entered the break with a 1-3 record down the stretch.

Donovan Mitchell. Bruce Brown.Bridges. Ntilikina.
Also, I'm curious to see what Terrance Ferguson does come workouts. Kids playing in Australia instead of college. Not setting the world on fire, but he's got crazy LaVine/Gerald Green like hops. Could see him rising due to workouts

These guys being mocked in the top 8 are flawed prospects and far from sure things. There will be guys late lotto, mid-20s and even 2nd round that end up better than a handful of the top 8 guys. That's the way every draft goes.
The good thing about our situation is that whoever we land, that player will be coming into an infrastructure playing with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. That's a nice landing spot and lends well for the chances of hitting on the pick.

Yup. Outside of Ball and Jackson, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Mitchell, Brown and Bridges are better than the other guys considered top 8 prospects. This draft isn't as top heavy as it's being made out. There are 2 -3 players with star potential and a lot of just solid prospects down to the 20's, and all of them are flawed enough to be busts.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

You know my love for Bruce Brown and Sindarius Thornwell, but I'm really starting to think the biggest sleeper is Charles Cooke from Dayton. I talked about him earlier in this thread, but I don't really see a difference between how he projects on offense compared to someone like Monk. He has advanced offensive skillset, plays defense, is 6'5 while shooting great across the board.
I still think this guy is going to be good for the Wiz, but he's this year's Sheldon McClellan for me.

Cooke is an interesting dude. Impressive free throw rate, as well. Which might suggest he could be a mid-volume or better scorer at the next level. My cause for pause for him (much like Jeremy Morgan) is how is a 6'5" 22 year old still sub-200 pounds? Wish he had more bulk.

Thanks guys. So no one is going to freak out should we win too many games and are picking 11th?

I don't have much doubt Ferguson will rise in workouts, he's made for them. His shot is true, and the athleticism speaks for itself.

I mean you still want to have the pick of the litter, so yeah, 11th would suck.

I wouldn't freak out at all. As far as I'm concerned, you can get basically the same quality prospect at #11 that you can at #6 in this draft. The downside is you have less choices and have to take what's left over.

To be honest, Josh Jackson is the only guy I'd truly be bummed about missing out on.

Just watched ferguson clips the other day. Guy probably is a good a leaper as prime Gerald green. Offense and jumper needs some work but he's talented for sure

Wait, is Kyle Korver considered athletic for NBA terms now?
