I'd tell him to defend his position but he's a traitor to this board.
Literally left because he didn't like nate's posts in the politics thread (srs).

I liked Nivek. We totally disagreed on his method of analysis but it was interesting how often our conclusions were the same. I also like nate. We frequently agree in basketball discussions and I appreciate his analysis. But his politics are anathema to me and I don't blame Nivek for bailing. It's a disconcerting situation for an NBA fan board to have a mod who is openly racist in his politics. But I appreciate free speech and pluralism so I believe there should be space for nate's point of view.

But if most of the board agreed with him, I would probably bail too.

Steve,
I'm drunk at a bar, but I want to respond:
I'm harsh on nivek leaving, mostly because I respected him a lot. He was one of the best RealGM posters. No debate.
Him leaving due to politics is really insane to me. But whatever.
Nate is a really good guy. And a great mod.
This board is moderated perfectedly.
Kevin was one of the best at taking complex advanced stats and dumbing it down for the average RealGM user. I hope he comes back.
Nate's politics shouldn't matter.

This is the part where we get back to trades. So what you guys think about Oubre for Lou Williams?

The Suns make this deal why exactly? Remorse for having fleeced Grunfeld on quite a few occasions?

It was a joke trade. Read the first part of my post, "Would never happen."

Seems to me teams play small ball alot more in the playoffs. Too bad the wizards have no assets because my deadline dream would be acquiring Wilson Chandler. Next year's 1st, Nicholson and Smith wouldn't get it done. Damn you ernie! Whyd you blow all the cap space on dreck...

The Lakers would laugh Oubre has shown pretty very little since being drafted

How? The Wizards are already over the cap and would have the cap hold for Porter.

This really begs the question of what were you doing posting on RealGM at a bar?

Magic fan here in peace. Would y'all do this? Including your first rounder this year too. Maybe a future 2nd rounder as well. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hzs455a

SUPERBALLMAN wrote:Does anyone know the deal with Tyreke Evans? Did he have some kind of major injury? His drop in playing time and productivity the past couple years is pretty dramatic.

The pelicans aren't going anywhere and he's on the last year of his deal, if he's a guy in need of a change in scenery maybe he's someone who could provide us some backcourt depth at a reasonable price? Maybe Nicholson and a heavily protected pick?

Guess I'll answer my own question...

Here's from the Pelicans board

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1526950

I'm wondering if we may be able to get him with something like Nicholson, Thornton & 2nd round pick? Could be a good add for the bench.

And no I am not "skybox"... funny how similar his question is to mine... I just now saw that post, don't know if he had read mine first possibly or just a coincidence.

Wizards aren't giving up a first rounder period for DJ Augustine.

Agreed. Although I wouldn't necessarily put it past Ernie.

The thing that would most forcefully stop that trade from happening is that it'd make Ernie look bad to give up a 1st while ditching a guy he signed in the offseason for a different bloke that he could have signed instead. Ernie wants to go through the trade deadline upwind of any stink.

Otherwise, that sort of move well might be possible.

Fair enough. Ya'll don't really have any horrible contracts that we could take off your hands so this is the best deal I could think of to help your bench a bit. The first rounder will be a really late pick as I think you past Boston so I didn't see it as crazy high value. The playoffs aint really about benches anyway I guess. lol

If a guy commits to sign with us, it's easy to dump salaries. Wall and George's relationship is interesting. They seem to be good friends. I've always seen Wall sort of as an outcast star being left out of stuff like the Olympics, really limiting his ability to recruit people. If George wanted to come here, we would make it work. Any team would.

If no picks I would do a Trey Burke CJ Watson swap.

I was being sarcastic, the wizards would be the ones laughing at that nonsense.

Jeez, this thread is getting bad

What's all this chatter about the wizards getting Paul George? If they ask for Otto and a 1st, you have to do it right? I would hate losing Otto, but you just have to do it
