The tank race is so damn close. Every win could be extremely costly.

Any of the top 5-6 would be great, no way we screw this up. If we can out tank philly and stay at 4 I'd be stoked.

Completely disagree with all protanking bs. Look at previous 4-5 Draft stars. Who do play for winning teams? Almost nobody... I really hate losing.

I would love us to get low enough to be in a position to have to decide on Lonzo Ball. So... bottom 2 most likely. Going to need some lottery luck.

UCFJayBird wrote:I don't have the updated numbers in front of me but I seem to recall March/April will be the easier part of the schedule for the Magic this season, so don't be too surprised if we end up on a run and around the 8-10 pick range.

The easy part of our schedule was the first quarter of the season. It was extremely easy. In fact the first half was an easy schedule over all. Our estimated win/loss is 15-43 so if we would of had a harder schedule we wouldn't have won nearly as many games. The only two guaranteed wins are the two Brooklyn games. The rest of the games are against teams we have already lost to this year.

Tell me one game the magic won in the 14-15 season, you can't, because they were irrelevant. But those games cost us Porzingis. This is only one example

Just like nobody will remember the OT win against the heat earlier this year or the win against the Knicks. People probably already forgot.

This team would look a whole lot different with Porzingis and Embiid for years though...

You are probably hoping gordon will one day be as valuable as kp, towns, embiid, etc
And with all the talk around about giving henny a pass for selecting in bad drafts even though those picks were top five..getting into the top 3 seems like a big deal

Also if you can help bump the lakers outta the top 3... magic will get their unprotected 1st in 2019
If they do not..they get two second round picks

Tanking is the quickest and most cost effective way to relevance like it or not

Those wins didn't "lose us" Porzingis or Embiid. Those wins did nothing but change the odds of us of landing them, not determining if we did or didn't. We could've also lost those games - and even more - and still ended up where we are today.

Yeah we could have, but we fell basically where our record indicated. Had we lost 2-5 more games who knows. Do you remember those wins? I don't.

Of course it's all conjecture, but every win or loss still matters come lottery night because it affects the odds. Yes you could win more games, still miss the playoffs, and possibly pick higher with worse odds. BUT who cares about those wins anyway they didn't give you anything, but worse odds.

Those extra wins don't matter unless you go deep in the playoffs. Hell some would argue unless you win the whole thing.

The Kings play the Lakers tonight. Whatever the result it is good for Orlando. But we should really be wishing for the Lakers to win-out.

..

If I understand the Lakers' situation correctly...no team in history has had more reason to tank HARD...If they're out of top 3, they lose TWO probable high lottery picks? Nobody could blame them for sitting everyone every night.

Agree but who knows they dysfunctional too. They might start winning all the sudden.

At this point the Magic should go all in, screw that half-assing. They need to get lower than the Lakers.
