Play the game: Henny's "Few Tweaks"

Post#1 » by Skin » Fri Feb 17, 2017 7:32 pm

WELCOME TO THE HOTTEST GAME SWEEPING THE NATION!

It's called Henny's "Few Tweaks" ...and here's your chance to play and win millions!

Image

We keep hearing Rob Henngian say this team is only a "few tweaks" away. So the object of this game is to put yourself in his shoes, and using 3 moves of your choice, YOU get to show your fellow Magic fans how to bring the Magic out of their abyss.

Rules:

1) You get to make up to 3 moves of your choice.

2) The Magic will have the 3rd pick of the draft. Fultz and Ball are off the board. 2nd Round draft picks don't count as an extra move, so you can include them in this move.

3) The Cap limit is $103M for the 2017-18 NBA Season. The only way to go above that is by using Bird Rights.

4) You must use accurate salary numbers for any current contracts. If you are signing a FA, you are free to use whatever dollar amount offer that you want.... if you are making a trade, it must pass the ESPN trade machine (must provide link).... just remember, the realism of your offers and trades will be judged on by others.

Sweet, I'll play :

(If Reggie Jackson trade happens, I will need to make some changes)

Draft Josh Jackson or Isaac. I'll go with Jackson right now, but it's a tough call. Does that count as a move or just the draft pick?
Second pick, right now I like John Collins. I believe we should get a pure big with that pick if it's at 24 - a PF or C.
2nd Round Williams-Goss - PG

I will let all expiring go- Meeks, Green, Rudez and Wilcox. I believe that should give us $36 million under luxury tax.

Trades are tough because trade machine approves things that GMs would not. I'll focus on free agency.

2 moves :
1. Offer 20mm on 3 years to Jrue Holiday to be our starting PG.
2. Offer 7 million for 3 years to Thabo Sefalosha to start at SF until Jackson or Isaac is ready

Roster :

PG : Holiday/Elf/DJ/Williams-Goss
SG : Evan/Ross/Mario
SF : Jackson/Thabo/Mario
PF : Gordon/Collins
C : Vuc/Biz/Zimm

I believe this is a playoff team with tradable assets. A lot hinges on Jackson's ceiling, but that's how the tank works. His supporting cast is very good and the Magic bench with Elf,Thabo,Ross and Biz should be a nice upgrade. Ross could potentially challenge for the starting job and move Evan to 6th man. It matters how consistent Ross plays for us.

I would let the team go and have DJ/Vuc/Mario/Ross or Evan on the block for any changes.

3 moves:

1) Vucevic, Hezonja, and the 34th pick for Heild, Asik and NOP 2017 1st round pick
2) Fournier and 2017 TOR/LAC pick for D Green, K Anderson and Dedmon
3) Re-sign Jodie Meeks

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=h2qy9ma

Trade 1 - NOP is looking for an offensive Center to pair with Davis
Trade 2 - Manu will be 40 this summer, will he return for 16th season? Fournier is and upgrade over Green at SG and gives them a long time replacement for Manu. Fournier is 24 yrs old. With the TOR/LAC pick, Spurs can draft Collins/Swanigan to take over when Aldridge retires

Draft -

The Magic's own pick is #3 and acquires the 9th pick from NOP in above trade. The picks,

Josh Jackson
Lauri Markkanen

Roster -

EP/DJ/Watson
Ross/Hield/Meeks
Green/Jackson/Anderson
AG/Markkanen/Dedmon
Biz/Asik/Zimmerman

Danny Green starts at SF, until Jackson is ready.

we have a team full of nice guys... bring in some physical and tough team players who treat every play like its important, especially on the defensive end... guys who take it personal if they get scored on ..... and hope it'll rub off on the young players we have so they can reach their potential... no more Jeff Greens, Ibakas, Meeks, or Watsons... just need one charismatic alpha, to get the others to fall in line... any players like that out there?.. IMO, Elf is the one player we have who can get there.

Move 1: Reggie for Green & DJ. Reggie has surgery
Move 2: #3 pick, Lakers '19 1st, and Mario for Paul George, indy '17 pick *Assuming PG/Indy sour
Move 3: Fournier to SAS for unprotected 2019 1st, if SAS is under the cap, which i think they will be, they can take Fournier's 15 mill

Reggie
Ross
PG
AG
Vuc

Elf
Biz
FA/Rookie

Should put us right around the cap once we fill out the roster. Its another one year rental suitation, but theres lots of scoring in that SL!
let paid professionals do their job, don't you try and do it for them...

Move 1: Trade every player under contract for the best 1st round picks they can get you.
Move 2: Replace all 15 roster spots with the best d-league talents you can sign.
Move 3: Hibernate 5-6 years until we have all our top 3-5 draft picks together and can actually contend.

You are welcome.

1. Trade entire organization to Jacksonville for the Jaguars
2. Rename team The "Breakers"
3. Hire Craig T Nelson as head coach.

Would be a lot better than this garbage we have now.
