Re: Early look at 2017 draft & college basketball
My new wet-dream draft scenario is: we get #1 or #2 and one of the trying-to-compete teams like Dallas or Milwaukee lands #3, which they trade to us for Bledsoe. Or somehow PHI gets the other of the top-2 picks and SAC gets #3, so they get to keep it and they trade it to us for Bledsoe. Ball and Jackson could happen! We can add future picks if needed.

Re: Early look at 2017 draft & college basketball
I think Isaac is getting a little over hyped on here. Hes a fantastic player and prospect but he isnt the greatest at creating his own shots. For instance 42% of his shots at the rim are assisted on and 31% of his mid range shots are assisted on. Compare that to Tatum who is 32% and 16% or Jackson who is 36% and 21%. I see a tremendous role player in Isaac but I dont see a #1 option type player from him and hes also not a facilitator in anyway either. I think he can be a really good defender and a good plug and play type player on offense. Definitely a top 10 pick for sure just not seeing him going top 5.
I think there is a clear top 4, you got the 3 PGs and Jackson. To me those are the special talents in this class. All depending on how much of a concern Tatum's athleticism is, he can be right behind those guys or he can be considered late top 10. I think its going to be very interesting to see who goes first between Isaac and Tatum.

They would fit together very well. Jackson is tremendous cutting off the ball and Ball is great at finding cutters. Plus transition those two would be very fun to watch, especially with Booker trailing them.

I say we draft Ball, pair him with Book, and our back court is set for the next decade
i mean, who doesn't love watching a pass-first PG?

Just curious, where can I find this data?

Hoop-Math is always a good go to for stuff like this.

Backcourt 2020.
My ideal: we get first pick
Philly gets 3 and 4.
Trade first pick for 3 and 4, potentially draft ball and Jackson.

I don't watch college basketball, but i read somewhere that Ball can't (or doesn't) run P&R. Is it true? If it is, i don't think he can be a full-time PG in this league.

I would be too, very nervous. Fultz is safer, the NBA is made for a player with his strengths. But if Ball's skills translate to the next level, he's a franchise player. That's why I'm so interested in the upcoming tournament games as they will give us a clearer picture of how he'll do at the next level. It won't answer all the questions but it will give us a much better idea than we have today.

They dont run the PnR that often at UCLA. That doesnt mean he cant run it though. I really dont think that its that much of a worry.

Love. Love. Love. No way that this happens if we don't commit to the tank. Like REALLY commit. No more starting Bledsoe against the Lakers. He has to have tennis elbow or turf toe or a groin or something...

If we never play Bledsoe again this season and IF we run the offense through Brandon for most of the game and IF we trade PJ and IF we rest Chandler most of the time, I think we'd have a real chance of holding off the Lakers in the race to be the worst in the West. But it will still be a challenge because that Lakers team without Lou and probably without Nick is going to be really, really bad.

Re: Early look at 2017 draft & college basketball
A lot of solid games with top prospects to catch today:
Josh Jackson and #3 Kansas @ #4 Baylor, DSJ and NC State host #25 Notre Dame in what will be very likely a high scoring game, Jayson Tatum and the Dookies up against John Collins (sleeper/potential late lottery pick) and Wake Forest, the Washington Markelle Fultz's get another shot at Lauri Markkanen and U of Eh, and Lonzo Ball and UCLA get a rematch against USC after struggling last game.

Re: Early look at 2017 draft & college basketball
Rough start for Kansas, no one can hit an outside shot and Baylor is making it tough to get out in transition. Josh not hitting his jump shot, but he's made a few nice passes and is playing really good defense right now.
edit: Just nailed a nice 3 from NBA-range at the buzzer to bring it to 6 at the half

I'd hate to think what the score would be without Jackson. He makes it so difficult for his opponent to complete good passes.

Re: Early look at 2017 draft & college basketball
John Collins is DOMINATING against Duke right now. 31 points, 15 rebounds on 13/18 from the field and 5/6 from FT, he would be a very interesting guy to look at if we got a second pick toward the end of the lottery.

This Kansas game is good, JJ is making some big plays down the stretch.
