That's certainly interesting. But I can see it now... we trade for reggie and the board holds onto this roommate info for a year convinced george will sign with us as a free agent... then he goes to a contender and we end up signing 32 year old Rudy Gay.

So Rob didn't accept it because he wanted Baynes? Come on, Baynes is 30, how would he help us? I just hope Rob didn't kill the deal and he is just trying to ask for Baynes and get a 2nd instead.

It's probably for just for salary purposes and number of roster spots. If Baynes isn't in the deal we'd have to take back 2 players and that would max us out at 15 players which might interfere with other potential moves.

6th Ross

8th Biyombo

Isn't going to win the East but it is a roster that makes sense. Everyone has a defined role. It is a true 8 man rotation.

For balance, I'd start Biz or Ross. Like that roster a lot. Don't forget Mario.

Can we trade for Boogie now?

https://youtu.be/PmfX9XououI while my thinking is either this is a bs rumor or its already donew and they are waiting for this weekend to be over to announce it, either I'd welcome him with open arms, number one we aren't giving up alot to get him, number 2 even the way he is playing how he isn't unreadable later, number 3 he'said not playing well because he's not fully healthy, so that helps us embrace the tank, number 4 he's better then any player on the magic now, number 5 not only will we get a franchise piece in the draft but having Reggie can jump start this rebuild with a high level rookie coming on too, but also he is insurance incase said rookie doesn't pan out

Many of you don't realize but adding Reggie and Ross makes us super athletic and gives us scoring we badly needed, Reggie is also a good defender

WE ALSO GET RID OF 2 WORTHLESS PEOPLE IN GREEN AND DJ

what's everyone's take on brandon knight? I think he would play well next to payton... a pg sized sg and a sg sized pg... I'd think a fournier for brandon knight swap would work well for both teams

I'd prefer to trade DJ and meeks and start knight at 1, but that won't happen, playing knight at 2 and Ross at 3 would be a defensive night mare, atleast Fournier next to Ross is a bigger body with Ross, but I'd prefer Reggie Jackson on our team

True.... and if we are not expecting to need the cap space it is not a bad move at all. We are giving away stuff that we do not need in order to upgrade ourselves. As i said before.... if He isn't healthy... keeping him out till next season and completing the tank could net us a stud to build around while he would ass stability to the team at a position of need. Him and ross though known for their offensive abilities are both strong defenders in the own right. Being 6'3 ish with 7 foot wingspan + great athleticism could come in handy.

add a stud rookie + our growing youth......and rebuild number 2 might be shortlived. *crosses fingers and toes*

Unappreciative morons

This rumor even as a rumor is a win for us, we win this trade easily if it happens, knee issues often improve especially in young players, the one exception I can remember is Brandon Roy and the Roy and Jackson are 2 seperate issues, not even close to the same, Reggie Jackson when healthy, would be our best player no one has even been close since dwight, and he does everything we wish ep4 can, he's not the greatest 3pt shooter but he's a he'll of alot better then Payton, we get him and it's a step in the right direction, we still will have a high pick in this deep draft, and a second good pick in this deep draft as well as 2 2nd rounders

Ah but you fail to appreciate the value of cap space. You moron.

With 80 mil cap or whatever, you will always get a player in FA. Always. Someone like Dipo, Biz, Reggie, etc. That kinda money gets you a player equal to or possibly greater than the value reggie has. Teams know this, so why would they give up two lots of assets, being their cap space as well as players, for just a player? This is why we dont get much for Tobias in a trade. You cant just sign players to 4 yr 80 mil deals and then flip them 6 months later for additional assets, it doesnt work that way. Paying the fee of the contract is cost enough for having the player, and vice versa, clearing the money off the books is reward enough.

In this deal, we are effectively seeing a trade of a player for cap space. They are the two assets being moved. With that cap space the Pistons can then sign another player.

Clear enough for you?

Agree with this, if we don't trade Fournier or Vucevic I'd be down to sit them and let them heal, same with Biz to a point if we have enough players and to tank propery. Play Mario and Ross heavy minutes and see what we have!

Can't wait for the end of this weekend so we can see if we make a couple more moves, looks like we're gonna get RJ, but that's also not set in stone. Would be cool to see more moves for more young players with potential and picks though.

If we can have an RJ/Fournier/Ross/Gordon/Vuc or Biyombo (if Vuc gets traded) lineup after the break, I'd call it a semi-successful trade deadline, especially if we can get at least one more pick.

The Vuc era with the Magic hasn't been all that great, let him go... would be a great compliment to davis, maybe we can pry their pick somehow as well.
