There's nothing wrong with waiting until next year. Why play this year?

For who? For what?

All it does is hurt the tank (and therefore his team in the future), and also hurt his bank account.

He can also spend his time working on his 1 weakness, his jumpshot, non-stop before he starts playing next year. He very well could become a better player for it.

The only issue is that the team should not string along the fans in an underhanded attempt to sell more tickets. Just come clean and tell us that he's not playing this year.

For his team, and his teammates is why he should want to play this year. We aren't tanking anymore, and even if we were, players don't want to tank.

If you want to pick a selfish reason then maybe he wants to play as soon as possible before the team is solidified as Embiid's team.

I just think that he would want to start his NBA career.

Ben Simmons must read RealGM. Lol. Go check his Instagram. He has clips of him working out and dribbling blindfolded and catching tennis balls while dribbling.

LOL saw it this morning. He was also doing Plyometric stuff... jumping off 2 feet onto a box 3-4 feet high. Can't see him doing that with a still broken foot.

Seems between Simmons posting stuff like this and Embiid dancing shirtless in concerts they are giving Colangelo the big f u.

Hopefully Ben is getting some external advice on his rehab, he should definitely steer clear of Sixer staff if he wants to play. This really is a perfect storm of incompetent FO and training staff. Somebody bring a broom.....cos it's a mess.

I think he is probably healthy right now too, but if they saw what they saw on the last scan, and then decided that he was going to have a follow up scan this upcoming week, then they aren't going to release him until he has that clean scan.

He probably is healthy, but they want to prove it with the scan first. Assuming that it is clean, I would expect him to play in his first game 7-10 days later. Just enough time for him to practice with the team for a week.

Simmons won't play this season. Sixers will luck up in the draft and get Lonzo Ball. Ball will take all Simmons' shine away and become the face of the team and win ROY thus creating a rift. Simmons leaves for the Lakers when he becomes a free agent. Lol. I'm joking. I hope none of that happens accept for us getting Ball and if he does win ROY I hope Simmons is happy for him if Simmons is still a rookie next season.

Where was that said? Where's the proof associates said Simmons was playing the 24th? I think I did read something that tickets went up on the 24th. Is that true?

I don't understand how people are still debating whether or not Simmons is injured. As someone said a few pages back, in the medical field there is fully healed and FULLY HEALED. While athletes can fully heal and return to the court in 3-4 months, it is not to say that the bone is FULLY HEALED. If you are the Sixers, why not wait? And you don't come out and say yes he is medically cleared to play but we're still gonna hold him out until the bone technically reaches 100% because it makes the league look bad for a number of reasons.

If Simmons wants to sit out for a shot for a future accolade, he would not have played summer league last year either. Why risk the injury if the stats won't count? Simmons gets such a bad rep because he chose LSU instead of a 1-and-done factory, did no pre draft workouts, and is represented by Rich Paul. The kid has done nothing but make pragmatic decisions off the court and try to be a team player on the court. He is getting a raw deal being included in this conspiracy.

Imo, The only prospects better or equal to the potential that Simmons has/had entering a draft since id say the 2012-2017 drafts are Anthony davis and a healthy Embiid....Giannas belongs in this category too but only after he was in the league for a period of time. Prob could argue 2011(kyrie) &2010 (wall). I would.

Simmons would go number 1 in this draft and many others in the past. Guys who are 6'10 w/ great athleticism and rare court vision and natural feels for the game dont come around often.

Imo Fultz, Ball, and Jackson are the 3 who i could easily see going 1 or 2 in most drafts.

This draft is deep, but superstar potential i only see Ball and Fultz. Simmons goes ahead of them off of what i said above and fact thst he can play 1-5. Love lonzo ball tho.
