Here is what I wonder about Fultz. If he is THAT good, why does his team suck so bad? I mean they are 9-17 and 2-12 in the PAC12. Last year they were 18-14 and 9-9 in the PAC12 with extremely raw players in Chriss and Murray. I had this question about Simmons last year not getting LSU to the tourney, but with Fultz he is on the 2nd worst team in the PAC12, only above winless Oregon St. If Fultz is THAT good, shouldn't they be doing better?

Monster game from Markaanen though.

^I hope other teams see the same thing so he drops to wherever we pick at. McD will jump ship from Kentucky to Washington.

Wouldn't draft him even if we got a second lotto pick but he could push down another guy we're looking at.

Tatum looks a legit 6'10". He's gonna start flying up boards. More than a year younger than JJ.

I think there's easily a top6 well and above everybody else, you can rank them however you want depending on what you want, I think this draft is better than last year's but for me it looks average-good, not great, you have Fultz as a legit nº1 and Josh as the next guy that might be a star if he hits his 90% outcome, the rest is alright, but I don't see any other potential stud, really good players, also the depth of the class is still completely theoretical, we have 0 idea who is going to declare.

Markelle Fultz
Josh Jackson

Dennis Smith Jr. or Lonzo Ball
Jayson Tatum or Jonathan Isaac

That's the top6 for me, 3rd to 6th are up for grabs and depends on what you value more, DSJ and Tatum have more star potential than the other two, but are riskier prospects, esp Dennis, so it all depends if you believe they will hit their ceilings.

I love Dennis shot and his compact form, plus his ability to hedge down, mantain his balance and dribble and explode to the rim, he is not a technician in terms of finishing and he is bad at that extra pass when he gets to the rim now, but he might improve there (Bledsoe has, and he is much better at shooting the ball than Eric was).
The rest of his game is kind of troubling at times, but NC St. is such a mess, it's a difficult call.

nº7 for me would be Ntilikina, who looks to be a superrole player but just not a guy with an uber ceiling offensively, which is not good if you are a guard, again, can't really say how much he can do snce he has never been the aggressvie type and he is playing more SF than PG for his team in France and has to share the ball with Erving Walker (former Gator) who never passes the ball, plus Frank is the youngest player in this draft, so he could very well end up been better than that.

After that, it's open game I think the highest ceiling guy probably is Miles Bridges or Andrew Jones, unless Giles gets his explosion back, the rest are highly flawed guys, like Monk or Lauri.

Josh Jackson and Jayson Tatum had pretty good nights, even though Duke did lose. Jackson: 15 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assist and 1 steal on 6 for 11 shooting. Tatum: 19 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal on 8 for 17.

Why is no one talking about Chimezie Metu? Infinite potential.

Just watched Lonzo Ball ball and draft express might have it right. Lonzos handle is weak. Never one went to the cup in a half court set. Did he have to? No. But struggled the couple times when he tried.

He sprained his ankle early on. Went to the locker room then can back out.

Currently, Draftexpress has some interesting players around that Toronto 2nd pick: Kobi Simmons (though I doubt he leaves), Alonzo Trier, Jonah Bolden, V.J. Beachem, Dillon Brooks, Alpha Kaba. I'd be happy with any of those guys. Think if we go PG with our first pick and a 5 with our second as projected, then a wing like Trier or Brooks or Beachem would be ideal.

I know. I saw it. The other thing to consider is the offense he plays in. Its a motion offense with exceptional ball movement. I saw a stat where they have the highest team fg% in the NCAA since 91-92 Duke. He has an amazing court sense. Consistently made the right pass. Super smart player.

BUT I have played a lot of ball and I have watched more. He was defended by athletes tonight that could not get on the court in a D-League game. He struggled the two times I saw him try to drive in a half court set. It reflected the criticism on his DX video. Maybe it was the injury, maybe not. Just reporting live from Mill Ave. Lol

That's part of what is scaring me a bit with Lonzo as high as he's being talked about in the draft. He has a lot of good shooters around him that definitely help his assist numbers out by hitting shots within the offense, we've rarely seen him run a pick and roll in college despite it being the one of the most important parts of modern NBA basketball, and he hasn't shown the same ability to create his own offense that the other point guards at the top of the draft have (% assisted at rim / % of 3s assisted; Ball: 54.7%/75%, Smith Jr: 20.4%/49%, Fultz: 17.4%/55.8%, Fox: 21%/77.8%). I mean he's only made 8 mid-range shots all year on 42% while Fultz has made 88 on 43.8%.

His basketball IQ is probably the highest in the draft, he's shot really efficiently in college, he facilitates the UCLA offense extremely well, and he's a very, very good passer, but something about the low frequency of breaking his man down off the dribble and creating offense for himself as a point guard worries me when he gets to the NBA level.

Its going to be a very interesting debate 2-6 this year those guys are all so close.

A guy like smith could even jump up to 2. Its a pick and roll league and that dude looks like hes going to be good in the p&r from day 1. I could see some team falling in love with him.

Tatum is another guy who i think some team will fall in love with and he could jump up.
