Seriously, if Bender could develop into the player he was/is supposed to be, imagine having a Bender/Cousins big duo. They would complement each other perfectly.

I would be the happiest man on this planet if the Suns got Cousins without giving up Bledsoe or Booker.

I'm not seeing why Sacramento does anything right now though unless they're getting picks that won't be less valuable by adding Cousins to the receiving team. Only Boston would fit that bill with the Nets' picks.

IF Sacto are gonna trade Cousins they will want Bender for sure. They didn't want Chriss in the draft and Divac loves European bigs.

I'm not seeing how we get Boogie because there always seems to be a team with a better offer, a la the Celtics.

My money says that the Kings are using the Pelicans for us to up our offer. We know what McD wants to do, so there is no way that he hasnt called and talked to them about Cousins. I bet he made some kind of offer, but the Kings want more and are putting another teams name out there. There is no way the Pelicans can come close to what we can offer, i mean look at their damn roster and pick situation. Who on the Pelicans would you be grateful to have excluding Davis? Buddy?

I agree. I think they are trying to trade him only for better players....probably they wanted a Cousins / Anthony Davis swap.

No way New Orleans does that, right? Even with injury concerns, Davis is 3 years younger than Boogie.

Because its a deep draft, and what are the odds that even with Cousins, we somehow rebound this season and end up with a pick out of the top 10? We would have to try to go on a major winning streak, while other teams start majorly losing, all the while trying to incorporate a new major player into our system and developing chemistry, while also trying to cover up for the players that will be sent out. Making a major trade like this isnt as seamless as something small, like ones we have done in the past.

NOP isn't giving up AD, so we can beat their offer. Best they can do is send them picks and Holiday or Buddy.

If the Kings were really thinking of trading Boogie for Vucevic and a pick, we can beat that too.

Not to rain on everyones cousins parade but two things make me skeptical he'll be a sun.

1st can't teams like boston and denver put better packages on the table than the suns?

2nd If Sacramento is looking to trade him even after he says he wants to resign he might be even more of a pain in the ass to deal with off the court than is already perceived.

Not saying i wouldnt trade for him but that 2nd point scares me.

It's probably something like Hield/Frasier/Hill + Picks (like every other year for the next two decades).

So to the people questioning why they trade Cousins here and make our pick less valuable, What does it say now that the Pelicans name has been thrown out there and they currently hold the 9th pick, and also have another all-star on the team to pair with Cousins, making them a hell of a lot better instantly?

I still say this is a ploy to get McD to up his offer somehow.

Our pick this season, and the Miami pick next season (or in 2019 if the protection holds). Throw in Warren/Chriss/Len. They get 2 and a half young players with talent, 1 high pick and 1 who knows pick, and also save roughly $7 million this season, which drops them below the lux tax line, effectively saving them even more.

We still have Tucker to trade if we want for another pick or young player, which could be done before a Cousins deal to add more to the pot, or just to add to our squad for a more full re-build. Chandler too.

Sunsdeuce wrote:Haven't posted in a long time. Been lurking. Wanted to comment on Bledsoe.

I think we will do this team injustice (long term if Bledsoe is not traded).

Multiple reasons for this.

1) Bledsoe is simply not a winner. During the last three (3) years in which Bledsoe has be "the Man," Suns have the worse three seasons in the history of the Suns. Too many excuses for Bledsoe not being a winner. Bottomline good players figure out how to win with what they have while losers whine about what they don't have. Unless your GS, Spurs, or Cleveland, every team doesn't have the players it needs to win games. So the excuse Bledose doesn't have help is obsolete.

2) The Stat Stuffer argument. Someone here once called Kevin Love a stat stuffer. Its been a while since I have seen a player with inflated MEANINGLESS stats that have no affect on the outcome of games and improving players around him. Essentially that's currently Bledsoe in a nutshell. Great numbers, zero effect on the game itself.

3) Knees. Three surgeries on (Two so far during his time with the Suns). I wouldn't hold my breathe hoping those knees hold up. Also wouldn't be a smart bet to on them holding up. Just saying.

4) There are franchise changing PGs in this draft. On top of that this draft is considered one of the better ones in recent years.

5) Bledsoe's stock will not get higher than it is right now. Remember the argument waiting to long to trade Nash. If the Suns wait too long on making a decision on Bledsoe, odds are it will not end well for the Suns.

6) Bledsoe is simply not a leader. Let's be real, no player looks at Bledsoe as a leader. Yeah Bledsoe works hard and all that but no player says, "that's our leader," about Bledsoe. Arguments can be made that Booker has become more of a leader than Bledsoe currently is. Using the argument "Bledsoe is a leader by example," is great in horseshoes and hand grenades. This team needs a leader, not just by example, but it needs that emotional Leader.

I understand some people like Bledsoe. Nothing wrong with that. When it becomes wrong is thinking he is the long term solution at PG. This team will not get back to winning until the PG position is upgraded. It's been proven three (3) plus seasons now that he can NOT improve this team.

Anyway, have a good week.

For point 1, he was injured so much over the last couple of years that most of the bad record was without him.
I agree with the points that his value will never be so high, but we are a crappy team with or without him.

For point 6, we really don't know that. Hosting the training during the offseason put him in the right direction.
If we do trade him, it means we will be on the bottom for at least another few years since players like Cousins and George would want him on the team.
I believe that, right now, he's staying a Sun until we know there's no star we can acquire or we draft a PG who will clearly succeed him.
