Yep that's one more team that just got better than us in the west. They may not pass us in the standings but we aren't a threat.

If we stand pat at trade deadline, how do you think the dominoes fall this offseason? I'm thinking we match whoever throw's an offer at Robes, because there is no one better that we can get in FA. We let Morrow & Collison walk, obviously. We obviously pick up the option on Grant, and I think we re-sign Lauvergne. I think the big question is do we buyout Singler's contract and give his roster spot to someone else. I would, personally, if Presti cares about this team.

So we would be looking at:

Westbrook
Payne
Christon

Oladipo
Abrines
???

Roberson
???
Huestis

Sabonis
Grant
???

Adams
Kanter
Lauvergne

P.S. How much money do we have to spend in FA assuming we only re-sign Lauvergne & Roberson and buy-out Singler's contract? How much if we don't re-sign Roberson?

Just saw the pick is top 3 protected. This might be one of the worst trades of all time. I feel so bad for Kings fans :nonono:

They're good for now. See how it plays out.

Man that's awful for Sacto though.

And that people is why you don't throw away draft picks.

Bruh anyone could beat that offer. Without picks.

I'm assuming teams didn't make offers.

Sure. But this is the kind of trade we have to pull off.

Well, now there's precedent.

This literally may be the worst trade in NBA history. The Knicks could offer more.

I don't see why anyone here should be bothered by it, its crazy news though.

If they resign Lauvergne and Roberson they are probably in the tax. If they renounce the rights to them both they can use the MLE which I believe is going to be $8.4M. The MLE is the max they would be able to offer unless they trade two of Russ, Dipo, Adams and Kanter.

If Paul decides to go back to New Orleans...

Which is interesting. Either Sacramento is VERY high on Buddy or Boston didn't even offer Brown and one of the Brooklyn firsts for Cousins. Could this mean that Boston is about to pull the trigger for a player they like more than Cousins or did Ainge not want Cousins? I'm surprised this was the return for Cousins, but after putting on the market and pulling him back off repeatedly it is possible that people were just hanging up when Vlade said he was looking for offers again because no one believe it was going to happen this time.

According to Kevin O'Connor per the trade board the Kings like Buddy a lot (which isn't really a good sign IMO). Also Smitty already noted it didn't lower asking price for other stars.

It's just soooooo awful for the Kings.

I don't understand being that high on Buddy. He shouldn't be much more than a 3&D guy. They will waste him like they have McLemore. They really need to find a coach that can develop young players. The pick shouldn't be a lottery pick. Even Sacramento tanking doesn't help them since the 76ers own swap rights for their pick if the Sacramento pick is in the top 10, although if their pick isn't in the top 10 it goes straight to Chicago.

The Kings organization is just such a mess. They made the right move in committing to a rebuild. However, they made one of the worst trades possible to do so. They should have at least gotten a Kevin Love type of return.

This should put Darren Collison on the market. I wonder if OKC could manage to land Collison and Tyreke for relatively cheap at this point. That would give them some quality depth. Kanter and Payne for Collison and Tyreke?

Tyreke might get bought out. Would make that easier.

Underrated but first round of GSW/NOLA may be fun.

I'd watch just to see Cousins put Draymond in a coma when he gave him a nut check.

It would give LeBron that missing playmaker he's been yelling about needing for the last month.

I think that's likely. Collison is on the block though.
