Accolades 90s to 2015/16 draft - draft thread
This game will be different because there will be no FGA limit. Instead each team will be limited by the number of accolades that they can have on their team. Accolades are valued as follows:
10 points for a MVP
9 points for top 3 MVP
8 points for All-NBA first
7 points for DPOY
6 points for All-NBA second
5 points for All-NBA third
4 points for All-Star
3 points for All-DEF 1st
2 Points for All-DEF 2nd
1 point for 16 PPG
0 points if none of the above
Rules:
1. You can draft a player choosing a NBA season from 1989-90 to 2015-16.
2. You have to draft 8 players totaling a maximum of 28 points for their team with the season chosen.
3. There is no 8 minute rotation rule. You can have a 7 man formation if you desire. Voters can vote against you for lack of depth if they desire.
4. Accolades only count based on the season chosen. For example, if you choose 1988 MJ, he counts 10 points. If you choose 1989 MJ, he counts for 9 points. All accolades can be found on basketball reference.
5. Each player selected must have played in at least 65% of his team's games. This means for a full 82 game season, the player must have played in at least 54 games.
6. We will use ABBAABBA format.
7. There will be a limit of 16 teams and playoffs to decide the winner.
8. Clock starts at Noon EST on February 20th 2017. After this point, each person will have 3 hours to make their pick with clock running from 9 AM EST until Midnight EST each day.

Re: Accolades 90s to 2015/16 draft - draft thread
Yeah, I've never had this guy, have always really wanted him, and can get him at a major discount here so this is pretty easy for me.

Kevin Garnett. I'll be taking his 04-05 season where his highest accolade was 2nd team all nba, despite the fact he was still clearly in the middle of his prime and had very, very little drop off from his MVP season just the year before. Over 16 WS and 9 VORP, averaged 22/14/6 on good efficiency and was all-defensive 1st team. Yeah, I feel this is the right choice here.

I was hoping LeBron would fall to me as haven't had him in this game. I am going to take a great player who saves me some FGAs as highest accolade is 2ND team All-NBA last year.
Give me Kevin Durant

Per list, Goober selects Magic Johnson

Karl Malone (00-01) - 5 points
Reggie Miller (93-94) - 1 point
Not taking some bigger names here, or using Malone's best season, but both of these guys were still on top of their games, and provide me with a ton of flexibility moving forward.
Can someone quote fadeaway please?

I'll take Steve Nash and Tracy Mcgrady. It is still possible to build a solid team around this pairing even after missing a few spots.
Greatest Bulls of All Time: 1. TONY SNELL 2. Jordan 3. Pippen 4. Rose 5. Gilmore
