Carmelo and Phil deserve each other. Carmelo wants to stay to spite Phil, so you're gonna waste the rest of your prime career just to prove a point. Stubborn as ****.

True Melo was an idiot for signing there in the first place and Phil was an idiot for resigning him, especially with a no trade clause and trade kicker.

The Toronto Raptors have agreed to acquire Serge Ibaka from the Orlando Magic for Terrence Ross and a 2017 first round pick.

Good deal for the Raptors, as it looks like it will be their later of two picks. I wonder how long it will take to integrate Ibaka.

Agreed. They definitely need some help with their interior D.

Ibaka is quietly having a good offensive season, averaging 18 pts per 36 with a TS of 57%.

Good pre-playoff move by the Raps.

Terrible trade by the Kings. Evans really hasn't been good this year and while rookies tend to struggle Hield doesn't seem like a great prospect.

Cousins on Bourbon Street. We'll see how that goes. Suddenly, the Pels have a scary front court. Will that combo work though... each will have to defer a bit.

Kings sadly terrible in perpetuity :(

Another deal coming for the Pels? They need wings? What team has too many SGs and not enough in the FC?

Too bad the Kings don't play New Orleans again this season, would have been interesting to see how Cousins reacts to having been robbed of the designated player exception.

If they could bring back Paul now they'd be a force to reckon with.

Does have me worried about an eventual JW2NO scenario. Kentucky reunion in the Big Easy.

I'm surprised they traded that big goof. Now the Kings can rebuild properly.

I don't think the Davis/Cousins pairing is going to work. On paper, it's an incredible frontcourt, but in real life, I foresee spacing issues . I can imagine many offensive sets where Cousins tries to bully his defender from the free-throw line extended, and Anthony Davis is just watching from the wings.

Terrance Jones is clearly the trade candidate:

Asik and Jones to the Cavs for Shump?

Ajinca and Jones to Utah for Ingles and Withey

Jones to Spurs for either Anderson or Simmons

Jones to GSW for McAdoo, Looney, or Clark

The NBA is an arms race and Davis and Cousins are Nukes. The Kings gave up a Nuke for a few granades, blueprints to a f-18 and crate of AKs and two ammo tins...the Kings can NEVER rebuild unless they see Steph Curry, Klay, Harrison Barns and Dramond in the draft otherwise they just set their kingdom back to the irrelevant Stone Age. VLADE YOU FLOPPING FOOL-

Davis and Cousins are Nukes yes...but they dont have a guidance, delivery system and New Orleans hasn't learned how to miniaturize nukes yet so its going to be a while before these weapon systems come on line...nothing for us to worry about here in the east. But it may make a 1-8 serious a little harder which HELPs us once we get to the finals.

Do the Pelicans make the playoffs? I am puzzled why they didn't insist on having Temple of Afflalo in the trade. They are going to need a SG, right. Could be missing something though.

Galloway was traded for Cousins, too. Their only guards are Holiday, Frazier and Moore right now. They very obviously got a bargain, but that doesn't mean they're in a good situation or even a good team right now. They don't really have any workable cap space this coming offseason even if they let Holiday walk, they don't have a draft pick, and they really don't have anything in the way of actual assets to trade at this point. I smell a max contract to Jrue Holiday or something thereabouts in the near future, though, because, well, it seems to be what they do. What's the over under on one or more of Cousins, Davis or Holiday suffering a serious injury if they all have to play ~40 mpg just to stay competitive? How to win a trade and still create an underwhelming and combustible team 101, by Dell Demps.

For the Kings, they got horrible value that I fear will be squandered further by paying some bloated salary in free agency to an aging never-was journeyman utility guy. It could be turned into a positive if they change course, though, and start clearing things out and operating more like the Nets have been this past season - I'm not holding my breath, though.

I'd actually welcome a Butler to Boston trade. My guess is it'll be at least Crowder + the 2017 Brooklyn pick. I think the Thomas + Butler combo will mess with their chemistry ala Iverson + Stackhouse. Both Thomas and Butler are such ball dominate players. Crowder is such an undervalued player and a perfect fit for Boston. One way another Boston is getting a major infusion of talent soon, my preference would be to infuse talent that I don't think is a great fit.

I'm genuinely shocked Boston didn't deal for Cousins. If the issue was his character, that tells me more about the personnel and the coaching staff in Boston, that they don't have the right people there to make it work. You deal for him and figure out the rest.

Just one of the Nets picks alone would have been worth it. Add in Jae Crowder and possibly Marcus Smart to the mix and that's a deal. It's getting to that point where Ainge is going to have all these assets and no one to trade for b/c either everyone's been traded or extended.

Kuptchak has been let go in LA.

I think it would be smart to gauge his interest, Ernie be damned.

Mitch is a darn good drafter (Nance & Zubuc show that). He's horrible in FA though (Mozgov & Deng).

They were probably worried the whole time that the Kings would get cold feet and change their minds. They knew they were robbing the Kings blind. I understand, get the deal done and figure ish out later.

I think it's a workable situation. Role players are the easiest guys to pick up. They've got two legit franchise types and a rock solid PG. They just need like two wings that can hit open shots. Maybe they can get one from China now that CBA's season is ending soon. They'll also have the MLE in the offseason to figure it out.
