No way we attach an asset to Knight to move him. That's absurd.

Ideally Bledsoe breaks a finger (minor injury with no lasting effects) and is out 4-6 weeks. Knight takes over and keeps us in second place putting up 22/7/5 on 42% shooting and many turnovers.

Then we move him to Sacramento.

I'm still very interested on him.

I would love to get him. He is not a good fit next to Gobert in Utah, so we have an opportunity.

He is a C in the current NBA, his shot blocking and rebounding are great. Young enough to be part of our core.

I do not know what they want for him, they have all positions covered.

Utah is all-in to keep Gordon Hayward, but they also need to shed some salary before their army of young players ink pricey new deals. They’ve tested the market for Derrick Favors over the last few weeks

We can absorb Favors contract and give them Tucker (if they want him for the playoffs) + Miami 2018 pick + Suns 2017 2nd.

I don't see how his value could ever increase tbh. Other than an injury to Bledsoe/Booker happening of course *knock on wood*

I wouldn't mind trying to buy low on Favors. His regression this year is a little concerning, but I'm sure some of it can be attributed to fit and health. If they'd be looking for the same haul he would've commanded last year, then no thank you. But if they're realistic about his play this year and they're motivated to move him for salary reasons, I'm definitely calling at least.

Bledsoe is eligible for an extension this summer? Thought it was the summer of '18.

Yeah bledsoe has two years left after this season so yeah the soonest they could talk extension would be 2018.

If they do look to trade him the next 6 months is when his value will be highest because of the extra years of control.

Under the new CBA, Eric Bledsoe is eligible for a contract extension and/or renegotiation this summer with the Suns.

Deals of four or more years can be extended or renegotiated on the 3rd yr anniversary of the signing.

Then we simply don't work on an extension. Just look to trade him this summer. Especially if we land someone like Fultz or Ball

The only way I see McDonough attaching a draft pick to dump Knight is if we need the cap space right then and there to sign someone. It certainly won't be at this trade deadline.

He is the tank commander after all.

Buying low on Favors intrigues me. He's not playing well coming off injury.

Wonder if the cousins trade will deter any other big time trades since no GM wants to give a boatload more than King got for cousins, and no GM with a star will accept anything close to what kings got for cousins

Nah, long live to our tank commander... as long as we dont have to attach a 1st to get rid of him.

The only players we should think about moving at the deadline are Chandler and Tucker. Those two players command a premium mid season because they're vets who would fit in on any team. Everyone else should stay.

We're stuck with Knight. He's not going anywhere unless we unload him for peanuts. Strap in Suns fans because we're going to be watching him play - for better or worse.

Moving Bledsoe at the deadline makes no sense. If we want to trade him, we'll get more during the offseason. There's no point to moving him unless we know we're locked in on a point guard in the draft. What if we end up with Josh Jackson?

Let's wait to see what happens in the lottery before we even think of moving Bledsoe.

I'd be happy if we end up with Favors and not give up much to get him. I think we can absorb his contract.

I wonder if the Pelicans would be interested in Knight? They are low on guards after that trade and they seem pretty desperate

Knight for their first rounder this year if it falls 1-3.

It's a super low chance, but with Knight, maybe he delivers for us. Lol

Len is better in every category than Favors this season.

carey wrote:Sacramento wanted Booker. Not hard to read between the lines there. They did the right thing not trading Booker + the pick.

Yeah, they obviously wanted Booker. That's what Simmons was saying. If you could keep those three do you make the trade. LIke I said repeatedly they need a main good scorer and probably preferable a 2 and 3, or maybe a 1. And they don't like Knight. So what do people expect?

I don't know how many would have traded Booker for him but from the sounds of it, it seems like a lot of people would have, because they is obviously what it would have taken. Like people say he is a star. Booker is what we consider bright future, because of his offensive production, but he wasn't as highly rated or taken nearly as high as Hield in the draft, so they could feel Hield is the Booker they were able to get. Hell, I know it will sound ludicrous to some, but they may have preferred Hield to Booker in the first place. They could have taken Booker a couple years ago and wanted Hield last year.
