With Sabonis slightly ahead. So a similar package could have been offered.

Similar only to the people who have a clue. Vlade admitted they had gotten better offers. The owner says he believe Buddy is going to be Steph Curry. There is no rationale thought from ownership and that is what forced this trade. Sabonis is a better prospect than Buddy, but you aren't going to get anyone to believe Sabonis is going to become LeBron. Based on what has come out this trade was forced by ownership because they are irrational when it comes to Buddy. They turned down an offer from Phoenix that would have gotten them two firsts including a top 5 this year where they could have gotten a much better prospect than Buddy and one that had the potential to become their franchise player. Instead they took Buddy and a late 1st.
If I offer you one of Fultz, Ball, Jackson, Monk, Isaac, Tatum or Dennis Smith would you really pass on that for Buddy? Granted a late pick this year is worth more than a late pick in 2019, but not enough to take Buddy over the other options you had. That is just the two offers we know about. Vlade has to be sick knowing he's stuck with an owner that just minimized his return for the only asset they had to cash in for a rebuild.

Any rumors involving us out there? I'd seen something about Wilson Chandler but I think it was more of an aside in one of Adrian Wojnarowski's podcasts than anything.

I may be alone on this, but I believe Hield to be underrated. I think if he is put in the right situation, which is playing a starting 2s minutes, he will develop into a star. Just my personal belief, but I still think Kings were dumb in taking that offer, esp. given that Casspi was included. But I would not be surprised if Hield turns out to be a star-level player. He has the tools and the intangibles to become whatever he wants. The only thing that would hold him back would be bad coaching and a bad organization in my opinion which is ironic in the situation because he was dealt to one of the 2 worst organizations in the league (CHI being the other).

Nothing at the moment other than that we're "very active". Denver's rumored asking price for Chandler is a lotto protected first and a pick swap. That will likely come down.
I expect something pretty significant. I just don't know what it is yet.

Really? Significant? Do tell. I've been hearing pretty minor.

I wouldn't expect a trade from us this year. I just don't see it happening. We are committed to Adams, Oladipo, and Westbrook. Adams and Oladipo are poison pills.
Roberson is an expiring but we won't get anything of significance back for him on the market.
Presti is probably too in love with Sabonis to move him.
We love Grant because he is a young, controllable asset and is showing flashes.
Payne is a high risk player when you look at his body of work in the NBA and Presti doesn't want to give up on his development.
Same thing for Abrines, we didn't sign him just to trade him if it is only bringing back similar value.
Kanter's injured. I don't think any GMs want to pay him that much to be a Sixth man at the 5 with little defense and they certainly don't want to give up any real assets. Maybe an expiring? We will see. Best we can hope for.
Lauvergne isn't a huge trade piece and is at best a 9th or 10th man on any team.
Singler is well, Singler.
We would have to give up our 17-18ish spot in super deep draft to make a move. Nothing will be worth it that is realistic.
We don't have the assets to go after someone who will get us THAT much closer to title contention.
The rest is history.

Agreed. If we make a trade it will be small. We simply don't have the assets. Could see us trading Morrow or Roberson but we would need a wing in return and honestly we might be better simply letting the market decide what roberson's worth is this next offseason.

TBH if Presti is that married to everyone I'm disappointed in him. There are 2 guys I see as untouchable, the rest are free for sale.
Also Grant isn't really showing much. I think Cam may be gone though too

Exactly. I think the market will give Roberson around 8-10 a year. Any more than that, I think we let him walk. I would also incentivize his deal where if he makes so many threes and hits a certain percentage, he makes 2 million more or something, if that is possible.
I really wish we could deal Morrow for a 2nd or something that turns into an overseas draft & stash player.

I kinda think he may be traded (Robes) and Cam. Though nothing would shock me other than the core 3

For Grant's age, he is showing a lot of potential and he has shown some really nice stretches. When you talk about bang for your buck and wanting productivity on a team where you aren't getting much outside of our "Big 3," what Grant does is huge.
Also, look at Presti's track record. He holds on to young players for a while and likes to see them develop. He is interested in young, controllable assets. Only time he makes trades is if they are small or to relieve a situation and avoid sunken cost, I.E. Foye, Kanter, Harden trade (League **** him), Ilyasova. By the way, still not happy with trading a 1st for a 1.5 yr rental for Waiters. I think after seeing Waiters turn out the way he did after playing under Donovan, Presti will want to see how these young players develop more than ever. I see Presti being patient and standing pat unless a deal blows him away. Morrow and Collison will walk. That will free up two roster spots. We will need to fill those spots. I think we may see a deal come to fruition on the night of the draft where package someone to move up a few spots to get a guy we are in love with or something of that nature or leverage some other team's infatuation and turn a pick into a nice veteran wing who can hit a 3. Hopefully we find a way to get rid of Singler's contract. I think we will probably call up someone from the D-League (most likely Dakari). I think Presti will try hard to move Kanter in the offseason somehow to free his books of that contract and maybe chase another guy in free agency. Whether that happens or not, I have no idea.

We would have to get either a combo guard or a wing back. Man, I miss Waiters already because Waiters can play 1-3 and that would have allowed us some nice flexibility. Presti just needs to follow through on his decision making and... wait for it... trust the process.

Don't miss Dion at all. Rather VO, or Abrines, or even A Mo. Presti's been trusting the process a little too long now.

Grant has been, by pretty much any measure, really really bad. He's young, but that goes so far. Other than that not much. That Waiters trade kills me

How can you not miss Dion after seeing what he's doing in MIA? That blows my mind. I get he didn't play well for us last year, but damn, I know a late bloomer when I see one.
Roberson/Morrow for Delon Wright and 2nd? #whynot

How can you not miss Dion after seeing what he's doing in MIA? That blows my mind. I get he didn't play well for us last year, but damn, I know a late bloomer when I see one.
Roberson/Morrow for Delon Wright and 2nd? #whynot
Because why for Toronto?
And Wright isn't that good.
And Dion had a good month. Still stinks.
