"Top tier" is a bit of a stretch. He's capable of running the floor very well and has a really nice and quick shooting motion, but he isn't one of those "jump out of the gym" type of players. He can still get to the rim pretty easily, but I wouldn't say he's in the same level of athleticism as Josh Jackson.

Id say Josh Jackson is in his own level for this draft when it comes to athleticism, and then the tier below him includes

Fox, Ball, Fultz, DSJ,

And the tier below them includes

Monk, Isaac, Tatum, Ntilikina

Vertically, I think Monk is arguably the best in the draft.

What separates Markelle Fultz from Dennis Smith, in your eyes? I see a lot of your arguments against Smith and, in my head, they can be cross-applied to Fultz.

I like Fultz a little more because of his size / length. Pretty sure he'll be a better defender and should allow a team to switch more on defense. I also am a bit wary of some attitude concerns and bad body language from Smith. Not a big factor, but something I've noticed. Not head over heels over Fultz either, but I like him better than Smith.

Overall I've only seen Fultz and Smith in a handful of games each, so everything is still subject to change. I've seen a lot more of Jackson, Tatum, Isaac, Ball, Monk and Fox so far.

Yeah I'm off on that, Monk is a pretty good jumper. I guess relatively speaking...

...Overall athleticism-wise, I think Jackson is in a class of his own

I'd even say D'Aaron Fox is a better all around athlete than Monk

I think Fox kind of gets forgotten about amongst all the PGs.

I know he isn't a great shooter, but something about him I just like.

Not saying he is the next Rondo, but he is going to be a solid defender in the NBA. He's so quick getting coast to coast as well.

I'd be deathly afraid of a fast break with Simmons, Dario, Fox, Embiid, and Covington coming down the floor

And if we still have Noel, yeesh

RIP opposing transition defense

i made a thread in the draft forum about donovan mitchell, wanted some opinions on the guy. i know its bad to just judge a player off of highlights but i think he would be a good fit for the sixers.

He's the perfect off-ball PG for this team. He's a relentless defender and he's a volume three point shot maker.

It's not an insult, it's a comparison. Marbury put up big numbers but didn't contribute much to winning. I believe Smith will be the same way. I don't think he fits with the way we want to play either. I believe he is and will always be an abysmal defender. I think he's not good off the ball. He's not the guy for us.

Whether he's a good fit or not, that doesn't make him a lesser prospect. If Dennis Smith becomes a young Stephon Marbury, you take him, and trade him for a king's ransom when the time comes. Stephon Marbury brings back prime Jason Kidd in a trade. Tobias Harris and Jamaal Crawford don't.

Tatum and Monk are MUCH better prospects than Harris and Crawford, so that is a straw man.

And people aren't fooled by big counting stats these days like they were 20 years ago. A modern day Marbury doesn't bring you back a Jason Kidd in 2018.

Buddy Hield just brought back DMC. Never say never.

We are supposed to lock at 100 and reset with new threads. Currently at 152. I'm going to go ahead and start a new one.
