My assumption is they view him as a 5 and any move to bring him in would coincide with Chandler going out. Since he's been down this year and Utah probably doesn't see him as a long term fit with Gobert I could see the suns viewing him as a buy low candidate who could be the long term answer at the 5.

Some sense to this. Sit Favors the rest of the year, but have him as insurance. Ship out Chandler, then let Len start and get quality minutes to see what he is before going into the RFA period.

I like Favors a lot, but I wouldn't move Booker/Bender/Chriss for him, so that leaves guys like Knight, Warren, Len, Tucker, Dudley, etc. Not sure what package can be made there.

Another 'trade idea' article on ESPN:

Butler to Phoenix

Phoenix Suns get: Jimmy Butler

Chicago Bulls get: Two future first rounders (from Miami), Dragan Bender and P.J. Tucker

View in ESPN's trade machine

Jeremias Engelmann: Given that Butler is one of the best players in the league (Real Plus Minus rating of +6.8), a Butler trade would be a rebuilding move.

On the flip side, the Suns have an owner known to be impatient when it comes to winning and making the playoffs. Also, they have very good trade assets: two young power forwards that were lottery picks -- Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss -- and two future first rounders from the Miami Heat, with one being entirely unprotected.

Cashing in these chips now would give the Suns a very exciting backcourt of Bledsoe, Booker and Butler. The Bulls, on the other hand, would have lots of cap space next summer, plus the two future firsts from Miami.

That's a trade I would do. Doubt Chicago would though.

I would not trade Bender for that package. Pass.

Easily. And I'm not even a Butler fan. He's locked up in a decent contract. Draft picks are unknown. Even only 1 out of 3 or 4 lottery picks turn into special players. Bender is still an unknown. I'd jump on it.

Magic Johnson in a position where he can now talk trades with Larry Bird and Pat Riley...wow.

Interesting timing. This happens right after the Lakers wouldn't include Ingram in a Boogie trade and RIGHT before the trade deadline. Seems like they want to deal...

If he had no injury concerns, the price would be a lot higher. Favors was considered as a borderline allstar before his injuries. He was a 20/10 guy on a regular basis (and like top 5 rim protectors)

Your team probably tries to get him for cheap hoping he recovers.

Except he's never averaged 20 points (career high 16.4) or 10 rebounds (career high 8.7) for a season. And he's got mad injury concerns. Sounds like a player to be avoided.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Yeah I'm usually anti get rich quick moves but I'd do that deal if it didn't include the suns 2017 pick.

Same here, plus I think that Utah will need the capspace for Hayward (who gets a max offer from Boston for sure), and Hill.
Tucker for Favors works. Or Tucker+Barbosa for Favors. Or Tucker+Chandler for Favors+Diaw+2017first rounder.

If the Lakers finish 1-3 and keep their pick, maybe we can trade Knight for it?

Then the Knight trade works out perfectly! We get the pick back UNPROTECTED.

Magic is clueless. Also I see no reason to trade for favors unless we are trying to lose spots in the draft. Can we just tank already?

Switch out Bender for Warren and I'm down. I don't want to lose Bender.
