Lowe Post podcast today:

Talks about Orlando and Boogie and how he thinks there's some truth to it, despite people panning it on social media. It might not have been 100% but Orlando made a real offer for Cousins and those names were involved. He thinks it didn't happen is because the Kings want to lose this year.

Stein:

The Orlando one is interesting, heard it in many incarnations. He heard the Kings loved Vuc and Fournier, but Orlando didn't want to gamble on Cousins.

Pretty sad when fans can't read between the lines.

Look at the Dallas roster. What on Earth would Orlando actually want? Ah, clearly (if true) Orlando must have tried to grab a pick for Vuc. Dallas is in full rebuild so all upcoming picks are likely to be top 5-10.

It's less about Vuc and more about a lack of interest in parting with draft future picks so easily. Didn't we learn anything from the Nets' Paul Pierce trade?

Agreed. "Not buying" is the key phrase there. Your first sentence isn't necessary.

Sorry. It wasn't directed only at you. People are going crazy with every Tweet and not considering that 99% of these rumors do not work as stated and valuable draft picks or bad contracts must be added.

When it looks too good to be true...

On yesterday's podcast, comparing past trades to what went down with Boogie, Lowe says there was a loud outcry from GMs last year about why Orlando never called anyone back on a Tobias deal because they had better offers and Orlando just took Detroit's.

Exactly. It was a Martins/Devos skiles appeasement. People still don't get that?? He was told not to make the better deal.

Ill take my chances building around a Vuc/Griffin/Ross and a top 5 pick PG this year than with those guys given the choice

Like i said, if we get insanely luckily, AG will turn into Blake some day, but honestly i dont see his offense ever getting to that level and i dont know if he will ever have the size to be a great rebounder, so even if we get lucky AG still might not be as good as blake, and if all we are giving up to upgrade from AG to Blake is Elf, ill take my chances (rivers vs mario is a wash) with griffin

Orlando clearly wanted expiring contracts. That is exactly what they got.

The only two things in the world of basketball that would cause you to change your strategy would be an offer for a star or high draft picks. Does anyone think we were getting a star or a top 10, no protections pick?

Of course other GMs thought their offer was just the swellest of them all, but that doesn't mean it was what we wanted or should have wanted.

Why are you guys so quick to believe every bit of spin spewed by rival GMs? When they speak to the public, it is 100% in their job code to lie.

please, people need to stop that already. AG is not going to turn into Blake's brother, let alone Blake.

Ross and Vuc shouldn't be considered building blocks. They are complimentary players that would be traded on a dime for a building block type of player. That leaves your building blocks as Griffin and our top 2017 pick, but that 5th pick we currently have would probably be more like 7-9 I would think, with Griffin beasting it in the East the rest of the season. Either way, I'm not knocking your vision and I'm not faithful to Gordon/Payton/Mario. I just personally wouldn't do that trade.
Do not max Vuc!

Why are people surprised about this? We all know this was a Martins and Skiles trade that was forced into Rob to acquire two of "Skiles guys." Everybody keeps blaming Rob but he would have never done this trade if Martins just stayed the F out. Everybody knows we got a sh*t deal for Tobias. That was all orchestrated by management.

Josh Robbins
Asked about the trade deadline, Frank Vogel said he's had a lot of conversations with GM Rob Hennigan about possible moves.
