Shabbazz plays the 2 oubre plays the 3, and we have literally zero ball movement for the rest of eternity

Twolves have been using Shabazz as a small ball 4 lately. Makes sense, long for a sf and strong.

Please don't trade this years pick. 2018 protected first + Nicholson can buy us something of value, just have to find the right team.

Seems like the prototypical E.G. move. Sure hope I'm wrong.

It makes zero sense to trade a 1st for Shabazz because he is about to be a free agent and we have absolutely no ability to resign him. Even EG isn't stupid enough to just give 1st round picks away.

Now if it's a 1st round pick plus Nicholson for Shabazz, at least then it's a salary dump, but I still don't like it.

Restricted free agent

We know. He means when Otto Resigns we go right up to, if not slightly over the Lux tax line. No way in hell I resign Shabazz for 10M+ per year and also pay the tax

yes, Shabazz as a small ball 4 is really intriguing, he can get buckets in the post.

Im with u on that, I'm willing to bet he's gonna try and get Allen Crabbe type money considering their roles are very similar. I'm hoping Mn moves him before we lose him for nothing.

Read on Twitter

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

This. I have zero interest in giving away a 1st in any deal for Muhammad. Lou Will was a good player, Shabazz is not.

I'm glad Lou Williams is off the market....I was tired of the terrible, one-sided trades being offered by the Lakers fans on the T&T board.

I also don't want to trade the pick, especially for underwhelming players like Shabazz Muhammed.

Glad Lou is off the table. Didn't want him here, certainly not for a 1st. Take his two GF arse to Houston. Glad Ernie isn't rushing things.

No way Shabazz would be for a first. He's an expiring meh player even in a bench role. Calm down guys!

Collison makes me happy if all we give up is a 2nd and garbage.

Dat2U wrote:...Magic ...absolutely loves Ingram and ...likes Russell & Randle.... I don't think he's high on or thinks much of Clarkson, Nance & Zubac. ...I'd try to pick off Nance & Zubac if possible.

Yes & Yes -- & Yes again if it'd help.

PIf since Lou got sold to the highest bidder do you call the lakers tomorrow after noon and say hey, we know we were not willing to go big on lou. but how about we do this. Clarkson/Zubac/nance, for nicholson/smith/and burke and 2017 first and second.

Clarkson is signed for big $ through June '20. He's way overpaid -- but even if he weren't, we just can't add that kind of $$ to our salary load.

The rest of the trade is awfully tempting -- Zubac is younger than lots of guys in the upcoming draft, and he's signed for a few years at only $1m+. You could argue that it's like picking Swanigan, i.e. the equivalent of a R1 pick. Zubac is exactly 1 month older than Swanigan. In that case, leaving out Clarkson, it's Nicholson, Smith, Burke & a 2017 R2 for Nance. Losing the bad contracts alone makes that deal worth it.

But it's too big a trade for Ernie to make right now -- how quickly does Nance or Zubac pick up Smith's role? Who takes Burke's (admittedly ineffective) minutes?

Again, though, w/o Clarkson I'd jump on it -- & all the more if we kept that R2 pick (with a plan to use it!).

I'll be interested in what Dat & nate think of it (& others of course...).

Great! Grunfeld got wind if my trade proposal. Now all he needs to do is bring in T.J. Warren along with Collison to complete it.

I like the idea of Collison for a 2nd. Also glad we didn't get Lou but strangely think he will help the run&gun Rockets.

The problem is the Wiz are probably attaching Nicholson to any deal making an outgoing first a likelihood.

You can make this assumption based on the Lou Will to Houston deal.

If we can get Collison and Muhammad (41% 3pt) by giving up something other than a protected 2018 first, I'd be shocked.

I'm fine with Collison on the cheap. But man, if this ain't Grunfeld going Grunfeld: snapping up an undesirable backup PG in the offseason, so that he has to throw good resources after bad to pick up an upgrade at the trade deadline.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

both are probably only worth a 2nd rounder. I'm fine with one, but both would be impressive

Wouldn't we be able to give Shabazz his qualifying offer? What am I missing?

Not that I am recommending we acquire him -- & certainly not for a R1 pick.

edit: cleared up....
