My guess is that we trade a 2nd for Collison.

There's no rush to clear luxtax room just yet. We can move Nicholson anytime up to the next trade deadline. You never know, after another crazy offseason of overpaying, some team might be willing to take Nicholson off our hands without so much compensation just to have a guy that isn't paid $10M a year.

Speculative imagery of Wizards' brass feeling out a potential trade target for Nicholson:

Shabazz Muhammad... lets get back to the discussion.

I dont think its Shabazz for a 1st rnd pick. Thats not good value for us. There's got to be more to the package.
Or, maybe is Shabazz for a 2nd rnd pick.

They Clippers have called about almost every available small forward type, but no one is in a rush to take Jamal Crawford, Austin Rivers, and a distant first-round pick. That won’t get them Wilson Chandler, and the Wiz threw their phones on the floor when the Clippers inquired about Otto Porter, per league sources.

Phoenix Suns swingman P.J. Tucker is drawing trade interest from the Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz, league sources told Basketball Insiders.

I think Will Barton is the real prize here. I know Denver is in the thick of a playoff race so they might not want to move him but I would definitely give up a first for him.

I'd rather have Wilson Chandler than Shabazz. All dependent on cost of course.

Obviously time will only tell on any move that's made, but I'm glad (for now) that we stuck to our guns on the Lou trade. Even the best result out of the trade just wasn't worth the cost to me.

I agree. A second rounder should be enough.

Chandler has been about as good as Shabazz this year, which is to say.. not very good. RPM has him 40th (Behind Luol Deng) and he gets 12M each of the two years after this one... No thanks

Ah, the $12 million definitely sours me a bit on that. I do think his numbers would improve here but that's a bit costly.

I guess Denver doesn't consider themselves contenders? Why would they be trying to move their 2nd best player?
