Nets are sending Bogdanovic and Chris McCullough to the Wizards for Andrew Nicholson and a 2017 first-round pick, sources tell @TheVertical.

Yes we absolutely should have got a 1st in return in the Tobias trade. That trade was a year ago, nothing we can do about it now.

Wait just a second right there! So you're telling me that rival GMs felt their offers were the bestest in the whole wide world? Well if that isn't the craziest thing I ever heard. I would expect businessmen to talk up how bad their product is...

You really think it takes much to top Illyasova and Jennings on a one year contract coming off a career altering injury?

Not at all.

But it takes more than Tobias Harris on a fresh contract...

It's fine. He's just listing some of the reasons why Rob won't be employed here by the Summer.

So Vogel said that he doesn't believe in tanking and wants to still try to reach the playoffs. Ugh

Exactly! The act is creating cap space for the ability to do something with it. The cap didn't get used... so you hand the contract to a massive contract to a single player that can be possibly moved if the time came and the worst case scenario.... it expires and you regain some cap flexibility. Would someone prefer to have handed deng that contract and be tied in for 3 more years. I'm sure one wouldn't shoot yourself in the foot on purpose.... but it happens. lol

the tobias trade was bad imo.

but there's sense and reason to it and saying "we just used cap on green lol" is silly because like we just said we still have the flexibility. sure we didn't get the ideal pay off from the deal (signing a big name) but the deal still had a reason

Let me rephrase.... i didn't like the tobias trade either. But it was an attempt for skiles to bring in players he's affiliated with in jennings that filled 2 needs... a back up point guard that could fill in as a starter if need be and a stretch 4 that would not be bother coming off the bench with aaron gordon being given the opportunity to shine in erson. We didn't make the playoff..... brandon wasn't resigned. Through trades and dealings we were left with capspace which could have been used for signing players... bismack being one of them and dj being another. There were probably no more opportunities available or worth pursuing..... so we wrapped it all up into one little package and called it an offseason. Now that expiring has it's value and i hope it will be used. otherwise...... from what is being said...Green will be cut and the salary will be there for another opportunity. Point was.... we didn't put the money into him as senselessly as it seems. And with the team committed to gordon at the SF position all year.... green got the back pf and sf minutes that ran us all up a wall. lol

I feel like Rob has weakened our place in the NBA. Everyone takes advantage of us, we continually get killed in trade, we give we give we give and get nothing back in return. Need a leader with balls in that front office

Coaches don't tank. It's on hennigan to trade guys like Green and Watson to hurt depth and force Vogel to play guys he doesn't want to play more.

yeah we are on the same page i think.

i imagine we could have gotten more value too but would have been locked in with another mediocre player whereas we wanted space.

I definitely want Wilson Chandler on this team if all it would cost us is Jeff's expiring and a super late 1st. I'm sure he'll end up in OKC though...he deserves to play for OKC honestly.

Number one let's stop pretending like it was a terrible trade, he was traded for expiring contracts so we could be players in free-agency, he's not doing sh*t in DET, they suck, they haven't improved at all from last year, maybe even regressed from last year..

Cap space?? You still believe that huh??
If the ultimate goal was capspace, then can you explain the Jeff Green signing to me??
We traded a 23 year old with potential so we could sign a 30+yo to the same amount almost right when FA started?.?

Great plan!

having space doesn't always equal being able to use it. and green is an expiring deal now. we aren't locked in long term

You realize that Jeff Green was the first FA we signed right? It wasn't like it was a month into FA and Hennigan just had to sign someone to get above the cap floor, just any idiocracy you'd like, but Hennigan targeted green and used that caps pace from Harris on him!

People who actually believe that report need to think about it, you get fined in the NBA for even hinting towards something like this, it's strictly professional (and smart for that matter) that they continue to give hope, albeit false hope. You do NOT admit you are tanking, nor wanting to lose in the NBA.

I never heard so much whining about the Harris trade , if you want to get Detroit back trade DJ and Green for RJ you will get the best of them in this trade.you win some trades and you lose some trades that's part of the game get over it.
Defence Wins Championships,we need to return to the Bad Boy era.
