If you think about it:

Knight is comparable to Heild
All we need now is a mid first rounder to send to philly.

Tucker to Toronto/Utah/Atlanta for a 1st. Flip that 1st and Knight to Philly.

I'd also take back a bad contract like Bayless.

Bummer about Tiago being an expiring contract - I thought for sure that means a big would be leaving Philly

Ersan means the Hawks are probably out on Tucker. So that is the Wiz and Hawks

Tucker to the Spurs for Murray and another player perhaps?

Or Tucker to OKC for Collison and another player?

I hope Gambo is right the Suns are inquiring about Butler and George - they damn well should

Who knows the Sixers still might move Knight for Okafor

Bayless has a few years of a bad contract left. I wouldn't want that back. Maybe Sergio Rodriguez
Gerald Henderson has less years so maybe his instead.

But you are right - get back a first from a Tucker trade and add it to the Knight for Okafor deal
Also, maybe use Ezeli to get the low first from the Blazers to take on his contract

Man... I been saying to trade Knight for Okafor since the beginning of the season. Recently I been saying to do this three team trade (with some variation) so I'll post a revised idea!
Suns get-
Jimmy Butler

Bulls get-
Warren
Okafor
Miami picks
possibly our 2018 or 2019 pick

Sixers get -
Brandon Knight

The really cool part about trading Knight in the above package is we don't have to involve PJ Tucker going anywhere. Or, again we can trade him for a late 1st and package that to the Bulls if necessary and possibly keep all future Suns picks.

Bayless was actually playing good basketball last year. That isn't necessarily a bad contract yet. He's been hurt all year.

I'd do the trade for Okafor. He has his issues but maybe you could get him to buy in defensively in a new environment. I would not play him with Chandler though. Okafor works for us as a 5--not a 4.

Also, somebody mentioned ealrier about Dejounte Murray. I'd love to trade him for Tucker, but I doubt the Spurs would do that. Murray had as much potential as nearly anyone in last year's draft. He had no business slipping to them.

Wait...is McDonough just trying to snatch Okafor out from under the Bulls so we can hold him hostage and make the Bulls a draft day offer of our pick + Okafor for Butler?

That would be epic.

Okay guys so I just posted this in the "would you trade for a star" thread.

So that Amare bit in the "How NBA Trades go down" thread, I feel like could easily be what the Pelicans just did. I really don't see how they see Cousins/Davis as a long term plan when they both play similar enough styles.
Imagine us offering Pelicans the same package as we did to the Kings...

Warren/Len/Knight 2017 1st. Tell me... does that not put better pieces around Davis?
Look at their starting 5 after that...
Holiday/Knight/Warren/Davis/Len

Uh... I see it being way more balanced, because I have no clue who is the starting 2 and 3 for the Pels right now.
Just to reiterate things I've mentioned about the Pels package for Boogie. Knight is a better player right now than Buddy Hield is. Knight had better stats as a 20 year old rookie than Hield did as a 23 year old rookie. It's worth mentioning too that Hield was playing with Anthony Davis, who should have relieved some kind of pressure on him, while Knight had nobody his rookie year.

Why do the Pels do this? Maybe they believe Boogie would leave in free agency. Maybe they feel like they have more long term stability with Warren/Knight/Len. They get our 2017 1st too so they are in really good shape!

Anyway... food for thought.
And then we could package Jones Jr with the Miami picks and maybe another 1st if needed for Butler.

McD the magician!

That's a tempting deal, but I'm also not convinced that Jackson/Tatum (I know some of you feel confident to throw Isaac in there) don't become Jimmy Butler tier, which would allow us to keep Warren and maintain a better timeline for contention (Late/Post-Golden State). Again, Booker is 20. Next season he'll be 21 - the same age LeBron was when he first made the playoffs. As good as Booker is, he's not LeBron - but LeBron also didn't have the supporting cast Booker could have after this draft. I don't think it's unrealistic that we are a playoff team next season without making a trade.

That being said, this deal is a pretty great value, and we still might nab a top talent if we do keep our pick - the question is how much does Butler elevate us this season? I doubt it's the playoffs, but are we outside the top 10? There tends to be an adjustment period for newly acquired players. Swapping Knight and Warren + a pick for Butler while adding a top 10 talent in the draft this season... That is enticing.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I want to beat GS next year. Not in 8 years. Not in 5. Not in 3. Next year.

Great teams are built brick by brick. Bledsoe moved us up a bit. Booker moved us up another bit. Butler or PG would move us up a bit more. Then another trade happens. Then a FA comes. Then u're there.

Yup. I don't know why we need to take the lets wait this out for years approach. We could make a move for a star while keeping Booker/Bender/Chriss. We make the 7-8 seed next year. The year after we see some more internal growth from our youngins, and we make the 4-6 seed. Some more internal growth and we see the 1-2 seed.
Sounds a lot better to me, than wait for the Warriors and Cavs to die. In 3 years when those players are older, maybe another 2 super teams form. Then what's the plan? Oh... wait for them to die too, let's scrap our players and rebuild again?

When the other team has 2 top 5 players and also 2 top 25 players, you need more than that. When you trade most of your assets for 1 guy, you have no prayer of getting the rest.

Just because we have been building through the draft does not mean we should stop and throw everything we have gained from the draft to get a top 15 player. That is how you waste 6 years.

Most of our assets for one player? Who is advocating that? Lol.
