While we wait for basketball to resume tomorrow, how about we talk about what we should do with the 19th-ish pick in the draft. A few guys on my radar:

Rodions Kurucs
Terrance Ferguson
Miles Bridges (will probably be gone)
Justin Patton
Isaiah Hartenstein

No way detroit would do this. They get 3 expirings, a negative contract, and an okc 2nd for a decent starter and a second year player who was their lottery pick. Stanley is not that great either. He would not be able to help us unless he developed considerably under OKC.

Terrance Ferguson
Miles Bridges (will probably be gone)

Rodions Kurucs is my vote realistically. Bridges will be long gone. I don't know if OG will declare. Ferguson hasn't been impressive in Australia. Hartenstein could be interesting, but he and Domantas will be vying for the PF spot.
Kurucs looks the most talented by far out of the guys we can get. I just don't know if a draft and stash is the best way to go at the moment.

If it's true that all the Lakers want for Nick Young is a second rounder, I hope we do it.

Of course, he's not the type of character Presti would go for. Not quiet enough off the court, and can also shoot, so that probably rules out our interest.

Seriously though, he's the type of guy that we should get. Someone that can shoot and that we can actually trade for. I know it's very unlikely Presti does it, but at some point, particularly if the cost is low, he has to swallow his pride on his "type" of player and actually start finding guys that'll help Russell win some games.

Kurucs is the best realistic pick. Anunoby would be a horrible pick. He's going to be a Roberson all D no 3 type. OKC doesn't need another of those. Anunoby was a streaky 3pt shooter in college showing some decent numbers, but his FT% was terrible. No good 3pt shooter doesn't make FTs. The small sample size makes Anunoby look like more of a 3&D guy than he really is. 31% from 3 this year and 56% from the FT line after 48% from the FT line last year.

I'll be surprised if Ferguson or Bridges drop that far. Hartenstein would be solid. Lydon is possible. Kostja Mushidi could be interesting. Jarrett Allen could be a solid pick if they move Kanter for a wing. Andrew Jones is a combo guard that could be a Presti type of pick, i.e. good defender that can't shoot 3s.

Hopefully he stays in school another season, but what about Juwan Evans if he comes out? Especially if we deal Payne this season.

I hope Sabonis doesn't turn into the next Payne. Both started out in a very promising way, then everything turned to **** after like 30-40 games.

To be fair to Sabonis, I think his hot start was always a little misleading. One look at his body and you can tell he needs some time. He might not become a 40% 3 point shooter again, but his ability to switch on D is still great for a rookie and will probably be the strongest part of his game throughout his career and he can still pass well. The shots aren't dropping, but then again I believe he was more known for his post moves in college, and his twig of a body isn't going to be posting up many NBA players any time soon.

He's not ready yet, but I don't think that should be too surprising. I think it's more on Presti- Sabonus should be developing off the bench. Let him try and score on weaker bigs. I think in time Sabonis will be the perfect starting role player, complimenting any superstar, but he needs time to develop. We should have a starting caliber power forward for this season and probably next season in the mean time, but if we're making a dead line move it'll probably be for a 3. So I'd be surprised if we got an interim 4.

I've been saying collison with a 3 point shot since we got him. That's not a wasted pick, that's great value. Prime collison was consistently one of the most impactful non stars in the league.
