Do you see how difficult would that be? First you do that because you want clear up cap space and said player is taking up a lot, so you need to first find a team that is willing to eat up the cap space, not counting anything being sent back. THEN u need another team that is also able to eat the cap space, send something back, and planning to waive the said player. that's asking a lot for two teams to help a title contender.
That's like saying oh teams will just sign their MVP calibre player cheap after some lingering injury so they can sign another MVP calibre player AND have DPOY player AND one of the best spot up shooter in th team. It's easier said than done
And the team that waives him is still going to end up actually paying him. And the team benefiting from all this can't compensate them in any way to make it worth their while. The proposed exploit is really farfetched.
